Well I am very excited for this game, the last time I felt like this was knowing that I was going to get a PS2 along with MGS2 and GTA 3, funny how things repeat themselves. Hopefully I can get my 360 this friday then pick up the game on the tuesday.

Well the magazines are slowly putting them out as we speak. As for online; IGN have the first exclusive online review on the 28th, every where else can and will publish their reviews on the 29th. It's not like reviews are needed to sell this game though.

That ad is plastered all over the Chicago Transit System. I have seen magazine ads with the PS3 version shown and PS3 GTAIV bundles. I have only seen one GTAIV tv spot advertised for the 360 and that was UK. If Microsoft is pouring all this money into advertising then where are the ads?

I have seen the 360 and PS3 one's in NYC over the weekend. The Adds seemed to be mixed. Chicago's add campaign is being ended because of an issues with violence which occurred over the weekend. The outcry caused the bus companies president, and other Ad sellers to remove ALL of the GTA adds in chicago. there were around 13 shootings i believe. I feel bad for the companies, they probably lost millions in add revenue lol. Here is link.

Same here it's tough trying to decide if I want to play through all the missions and unluck all the islands naturally, or jump into an online game and just cruise through the entire islands.

I'll go with Pachter on this one. GTAIV will sell slightly more on the Xbox 360, but it will push a lot more PS3 consoles.

Last weekend, Chicago saw quite a bit of violence. At the moment, CBS is reporting a total of "37 Shot, 2 Stabbed, 7 Dead," while pointing out that 13 of the victims were Chicago Public School students. Fox News Chicago noticed—in a moment of divine correlation—that Grand Theft Auto advertisements appear on CTA buses and train stations.

The remainder of Fox's report becomes muddled. In the intro, we cannot tell if they are blaming the shootings on the ads or just claiming that the ads are in poor taste. (They never, in fact, mention when the ads actually went up.) We'd say Fox buried the lead, but we're not so certain there was any lead to bury.

The piece continues grasping for a story, this time through the political hypocrisy of IL governor Rod Blagojevich, who had once spoken against Grand Theft Auto San Andreas advertisements publicly. And then, to demonstrate how we should/could feel about this story (other than confusion?), the viewer is treated to a series of man on the street interviews. Finally, we find that CTA has made no comment on the situation but will be pulling the ads (we can assume only because Fox was doing the story).

After viewing the clip, we realized that the headline above the video is simply "Violent Video Game Ads on The CTA." But that headline, while appearing innocuous at first glance, is as intentionally misleading as Fox's video. Is Fox calling the "video game" itself violent or the "video game ads" violent? You can't tell...which seems to be precisely the point.

We'd say to check out the video for yourself, but we'd hate to see Fox News Chicago make the ad revenue. Crecente had an interesting feature a while back on a similar GTA ad controversy if you feel the need to click something.

So there goes your "GTA is all over buses in Chicago" argument. Im not even lying when i say that when i see multiplat ads, the X360 versions stand out because of the coloring of the logo. And the commercials in the UK/Europe will only help M$ more b/c @ the end they advertise the low price of the system itself. However, if i were M$, i would be promoting the hell out of that exclusive content. Then again, they may wait for a couple of months b/c the game is going to sell by the buttloads in its own right. Then when things calm down...BOOM! Market the exclusive DLC and people will start buying again. Just my 2 pennies ;)E M I N 3 M

MS needs all those commercials because Europe is PS3 turf (ignoring the Wii for a second). I thinkt he main reason they don't market the DLC is because no one really as any clue as to what exactly it is.

Yup. USA is still Xbox 360 turf. Tbf though, the GTA Bundle is going to push a lot of PS3s so I don't think Sony will be taking quite the hit MS would like.

If they mess with rockstar's launch, they kill a reviewer-publisher relationship, which is not good. Also, people who get the game early are stupid if they release anything early because they can be held liable for breaking the law(im sure Rockstar is monitoring Youtube at all times of the day to keep this from happening.) The black case was just a mock-up they used for the CE before the real box-art was released. It does in fact come with the normal boxart:
