[QUOTE="NobuoMusicMaker"]I didn't welcome it. It made me want to play PC FPS more.FonkeyMunky7
*sigh* More Halo 3/Xbox 360 bashing? Do you really need to try to do this on every thread?
Dude its not just you. He attacks Nintendo favored threads too.
He is a mindless, souless, sony robot.
If you ever doubt the mouse/keyboards superiority over a controller I have a homework assignment for you.
Just google quake 2/3 videos of jumpers (thats right, all they do is jump from place to place on maps! Trust me, its quite
amazing) or watch an elite quake video and you would be retarded to ever think you could move that fast with a pathetic
controller. I will agree console FPS's have improved alot and I don't mind playing them but they will never give you the control
of a mouse / keyboard
[QUOTE="astiop"][QUOTE="out0v0rder"][QUOTE="astiop"]I would have to agree with this one. And with the analoge stick you can make your character move at more speeds than you can with a keyboard.
out0v0rder
That is debateable. How is being able to control how slow your character moves an advantage? It's not like were powersliding around hairpin turns by feathering the gas, this is FPS pal. It can be argued that being able to switch directions instantly, and running at full speed as quick as possible is much more important for survival than being able to choose whether you can WALK at 1 mph or 3 mph. I have one walking speed, and quite frankly that is all anyone else should need.
If you want to remain stealthy but the normal walking speed is too slow you can go a little faster while still not making sound. And anyhow, i'm not trying to argue what is more important, just pointing out that controllers don't come without any advantages.
Nice situation you created there.......maybe if you were playing something likeSplinter Cell, which isn't an FPS.
What about CS then? In clan matches sound certainly is important.
actually the fact that the pc fanboy is bagging out auto aim is completelty stupid, pc mouses are so exact that it is unrealistic and makes pc fps to easy. consoles on the other hand even with auto aim are harder to aim and shoot which i thinks adds a sense of realism to the game. I have played halo on both console and pc and even on legendary i found that 9/10 of my shots where head shots.
Besides the auto aim part of his argument is flawed, you can turn it off in the console settings, and it takes the same time to change direction with the analoge sticks as it does to change jeys on a keyboard and generally 1 to 5 milliseconds is't even detectable by the game
You must be joking. There's no way in hell I'd ever choose a console controler over a mouse+keyboard setup. You've obviously never played a PC FPS. Mouse is FAR superior.
Oh, and Timesplitters was the first game that used both analog sticks. Halo isn't popular because of its "omg awesome controls" just its gameplay and storyline (which I enjoy).
Put it on a PC first and I wouldn't even touch the hexbox version.hydrophoboe
I have been a PC gamer for 10+ years and go back to when PC shooters were just picking up online. Damn good days of 56k dial up.
And theirs no comparison to K&M combo to Joypad when it comes to skills and the like. But for fun factor joypads can work a treat for many shooters especially close-up action and adventure shooting. PC fansmake K&M to be a big deal and for competitive shooting it really is.
But the pads controls have come a long way and I find even strategy realistic shooters now work pretty well on consoles too. Its much easier to adjust to K&M then joypad and learning to use a pad, well takes extra skills and precision and for many its not worth while to learn them.
But after the last few years of gaming on PC and console I must admit I have started to favour pads over K&M. I enjoyed Half -Life 2 so much more on PC after customizing my 360 pad to work with it. It was hell of a lot more fun and the action suited it better K&M made it far to easy.
I must admit online play with level playing fields on consoles with 95% of people using similar pads is a bit more fun and fairer than the competitive arena of PC gaming. Obviously console gaming is still competitive but I find it more fun on XLive than I do on most PC shooters. Though the annoying yankie college dudes on XLive can be a little annoying but find a group or clan and its great.
But back to the point Halo was the first real console shooter to really incorporate tight pad consoles. Timepslitters was also great and inventive though the Pad was a little awkward for FPS.
K&M isnt as amazing as all PC gamers make out but its def needed for online gaming and upper difficulties on games.
Do you know how silly your banter is?actually the fact that the pc fanboy is bagging out auto aim is completelty stupid, pc mouses are so exact that it is unrealistic and makes pc fps to easy. consoles on the other hand even with auto aim are harder to aim and shoot which i thinks adds a sense of realism to the game. Both are just unrealisitic, and Gamepads are inferior.
Sure you can prefer them, but they are inferior no doubt.
By this logic the Wii mote is the most unrealistic as you point the remote at the screen, and pull the trigger - emulating a real gun, but its too accurate and easy to aim to be realistic
And the 360 has NO realistic shooters. NONE at all.
1) Well PC gamers are the only ones who get Mouse and Keyboard standard for FPS... And they get every gamepad aswellpc gamers are the only ones who bring up a mouse when talking about FPS's.
Halo has brought FPS's mainstream on consoles. And FPS's on consoles are only gonna get more popular.
Soon when you say FPS people are gonna think consoles. Halo, Killzone etc...
i bet right now if you launched any FPS at the same time on a PC and Console like 360, itll sell the most on the console.
Games like Halo + Consoles going Online is making FPS's a big deal on consoles. a Monitor and mouse is the old way.
HeHateMe_basic
2) Goldeneye bought FPS to mainsteem on consoles. FPS on console has been popular ever since - Does that mean its better....... And whats saying PC FPS isnt more popular? Counter Strike alone generates more net traffic than Italy. Nuff said.
3) Even with those two whole games the genre is synonmus with PC.
4) Console online is nothing in comparison compared to PC. And you can use a TV and gamepad with PC... Or a Wiimote, or TV and Mouse / KB.... If gamepads were 'the way of the new' im sure PC gamers would have apoted them in the mid 90s
I implore people to use a gamepad with a PC FPS. Do it.
I have two wireless 360 controllers, and use them on PC. Playing CS - or any other PC FPS is an absolute farce.
For FPS KB/M >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gamepad no question.
FPS on PC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FPS on Console
