[QUOTE="LastRambo341"][QUOTE="campzor"] I dont believe for a second the next consoles are going to be slightly more powerful..the only reason they would be is if there was a gimmick to it like the motion controls for the wii, otherwise whats the point of releasing a "slightly" more powerful console if its going to have standard controllers? And plz dont bring some "cant afford to release a much more powerful system" talk to the convo, cause lets not forget that sony just released a piece of powerful hardware they r losing money on..clearly they didn't learn their lesson the first time, so what makes u think on their next console will b any differentHalcyonScarlet
So you're saying Ps4 will be powerful even though Sony has been losing money for years equaling to billions of dollars AND firing thousands of employees? Learn economics, business and marketing pleaseThe most important parts of business can't be taught, which is why some of the most successful businessman never did further education in the subject. The difference between how a businessman and an accountant thinks, is one plays it safe, the other takes risks and they risk everything.
The console market has always been about risks. Despite what Sony may say themselves, releasing a system 'only slightly more powerful' is as much of a risk as releasing a powerful one. The only way you could release an underpowered system is if you are innovative enough to rely solely on a gimmick like Nintendo with the Wii and Wii U.
Sony/MS can't release a traditional system that is only slightly more powerful, because they're going to need a selling point.
I personally would not buy a new console if it's just a bit more powerful than my current console.
I don't think MS are going to place all their bets on Kinect for their nextbox, because they know it's limited and only caters to a certain part of the market.
Also both companies will want to have a long life console as well.
So I just don't buy the idea that the next gen consoles won't be much more powerful than the current gen.
They will be powerful. But the gap will be smaller than the last-gen this-gen gap
