The irony of Wii haters

I see a lot of wii bashing particularly its hardware saying its last gen, utter crap, trash, etc. And i also see when there are comparison of PC and PS3/X360 these wii haters will say "I don't care." "It's expensive." "I care about games." and many many more. Oh the irony of wii haters.

They always bash the wii and yet their PS3/X360 hardware are so inferior to high end gaming PCs. What's more they use arguments or comments used by people defending the wii whenever their PS3s/X360s are compared to the superior hardware PCs.

I used to be a sheep.

Now i cant speak for all Wii haters but I left Nintendo consoles because I wasnt ready to go motion control when I am still comfortable with gamepads. Plus Wii's library isnt as M as the competition. I like M games personally.......

umm there are already mods for RE4 to make it look better what's more those games you mentioned are Japanese games. Japanese games are rare on PCs but it appears to me that this gen *** devs are starting to dev for PC better.

The true irony is that Wii defenders may very well force me into becoming a Wii hater, a sad fate indeed. I can't stand it when people defend their console by bashing the others.BreakingPoint8

Most Wii defenders don't bash other consoles, at least I don't. I'm constantly defending Nintendo, and still support other consoles. But then I think sheep have always had a little more class.

Specs only measure potential for a games graphics and programming. However there is a point where thats the max you can pull out a system. Wii haters are right to say that the Wii has very little or even no potential in the field of graphics, AI, and all that other stuff. However the wii has potential, not to have higher gameplay potential, but different gameplay potential.

To Hermits, Lemmings, and Sheep that hate the wii for it's specs. Specs=/=Better gameplay*

* There are some cases where Specs and a different controller can equal better gameplay, however they do not directly link it to a AAA every time.

No one even bashes the Wii for its hardware anymore. It mainly gets bashed for its lineup.

It has less to do with the power of the console and more to do with the content of the games. Also, while a PC can be much more powerful then any console ( my gaming rig is aging and not much more powerful) the days of PC games flat out trumping the consoles are over. Save for MP gaming on a PC games like MGS4 are as good, if not better then any PC game I have played. But I did not finish Crysis because my PC could just not handle it.

The Wii hardware amounts to a repackaged Gamecube. It's like a high end and low end graphics card from 6 years ago. Both are so outdated and worthless any difference is negligible.

Fact is at $250 the Wii is a ridiculous rip-off. Same for $50 low budget games and VC prives. If you're alright with it and accept that fact then whatever (I did and own a Wii) then go right ahead. But don't deny the facts or be delusional about getting ripped off. PS3/360 and especially a PC are a far far better value.

I own a PC and hate the Wii, mostly because it is garbage. I like the PC because I can do/play a lot of stuff, and no software isn't expensive because I can get everything a)free/open source or b)cheap. kokomos

The gap between PC and consoles isn't huge. Sure, Crysis looks better than anything on consoles, I'm not debating that, but games like Uncharted, MGS4 ect. still look stunning. The Wii is different, its games look only slightly better than last gen, yet it is priced higher. It has nothing that even comes close to 360/PS3, yet in many cases the 360/PS3 can still compete with the PC, even though the PC will always be the best graphics wise.

There's another reason for it being ironic aswell : MS and Sony are prepared to rip-off their ideas and use them in their own market growth. After all, PS3 already has a confirmed Motion-Sensing Controller and Home is a massively eye-candied Mii system coupled with a Second Life interface. 360 has a confirmed Avatar system and Motion-Sensing Controller is still a rumour.... Thats ironic aswell.

You have to realize laddy, that when the Xbox 360 first came out - it was the top-dog out there; however, it only takes a quarter, or mere months for that matter, for the PC gaming industry to strip it down. Even if the games run in a lower resolution - they still look fantastic. Simple evolution - PC gaming hardware will only get better as time progresses. The Xbox 360 and PS3 can perform fantastic visuals. They have every right to bash the Wii.

Hell, I see the Wii for what it is - a paperweight(or POS).

Not everyone games on a PC. Which is one of the reasons why they don't care about PC gaming or fancy gaming rigs. To them, PC gaming is irrelevant when comparing ONLY AMONG CONSOLES.

The only way to compare a high end PC to another platform (similar to it) would be an inferior PC.

Reason i don't want a wii is exactly that; i'd feel stuck in last-gen. All i really want is brawl, i could really care less for mini-game collections and galaxy. Brawl isn't enough to justify what's essentially a gamecube with motion sensing controls for $200 more than a normal gamecube. Not to mention, it's drowning in shovelware, the multiplats are horrific, and even though it's capable of decent graphics, 90% of the games look like crap. There. I still want one, just for brawl...velocity99

I remember playing my Mario Kart Double Dash online with my friends, Melee with my friends, being able to download & play NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, and other games on my GameCube...I do remember having to have a memory card to save my games on my gamecube.I also remember EVERY GameCube game supporting my Widescreen TV. I mean, I remember that, so it must be true that the Wii is just a GameCubewith motion sensing, faster CPU, faster GPU, more ram, larger media, internal memory, online capabilitie, and widescreen support... Nintendo added all that to the Gamecube and made it smaller.. and for only $200 more than the Cube costs.

You listed a mere fourteen or fifteen titles by the looks of it - which is great and all, but within almost two years of launch - you can only name that many titles off the top of your head? Granted I can probably name 50+ titles for the Xbox 360 off the top of my head and god knows how many with the PC. Granted, you gave him an example and his closeminded attitude was clearly shut up and was shown in the right direction.

However, let's not hide behind the VC and backwards compatibility. This is the Wii's library we're talking about, not some rehash of old games we played many years ago. Again, considering only a mere 30% of titles score ABOVE 70% at Metacritic - that's not a lot of headroom to work with. I would rather have the console in which more than half of the games score above that.

But hey, we're all different. But the Wii's library, as a whole, is a laughing stock to me.

its closer to a little over 1 1/2 years since launch, not 2 years. there's a 5 month difference in your thinking... thats a considerable amount of time
