The Modern Warfare 3 jealousy appears to be astounding on these boards... The sooner the haters realize that Modern Warfare 3 is this year's biggest launch (book, movie, game), and will overshadow any other game in fall, as well as score AAA across the board, and be played by millions of players daily for at least a year, the better.RRTTWAAA
Nah there's no jealousy just people who know CoD is nothing special. Also, you sound like a user I haven't seen in a while, SHR3DD3D.
I'm hyped for it. I don't see why Battlefield 3 undoubtedly being a better game automatically makes MW3 trash. They're completely different shooters that cater to different crowds. While I didn't enjoy MW2 too much, I loved CoD4 and I've been having loads of fun with Black Ops recently, if MW3 removes some of it's predecessor's faults I'll be enjoying both it and Battlefield 3. I'll have my twitch shooter and simulation shooter fixes for a good while.
More like the king of **** amirite

Lol, not bad games but not king of kings either.

There's like a .0000001% chance of MW3 not being announced. Also, CoD is hardly the "king of kings"

I think it'll be the biggest game this year. In terms of sales of course. Reception among the gamers here. Not too sure, but for all the complainers, they will just buy it anyway. I call it the herd mentality.
I won't be getting it. Last CoD game I got was CoD 2. After that it has been all downhill. I care about the singleplayer, not the multiplayer and the singleplayer sucks when compared to the older games in the series.[QUOTE="turtlethetaffer"]

I think sales are not very relevant here. It's not shareholder wars. Games should be judged based on what they are, not on the amount of hype and marketing money that goes with them. In this respect, CoD his hardly king of kings.

Agreed. Sales mean nothing when picking a leader. It's all about the gameplay, not the number of copies sold. I can't play sells, so I don't see a reason to care about them when picking the best game.Game won't come out this year. I can FEEL it. CoD games always get announced in March or April, perhaps even in February.enterawesomeIf it wasn't coming out this year, it wouldn't be announced either. They do normally get announced earlier, but they are likely trying a different marketing strategy this year. That's nothing new.

I suggest you check Shred's profile.
I'll get it if it is different. The last two games were trash. Extremely boring and far too easy, with some of the most unbalanced multiplayer I've ever played.
king of sales, sure. nothing else. There's like a .0000001% chance of MW3 not being announced. Also, CoD is hardly the "king of kings"

Lol, my life will continue whether or not this game exists. BLOPs was one of the worst campaigns I have ever suffered through. It started well and kept getting worse and more annoying.

Tell me about it, I didn't even finish it.

That exactly describes how I felt about the MW2 campaign. I seriously waswondering what I was playing half the time.

Neither did I. And I finish EVERY game I start. EVERY SINGLE ONE. That's just sad.
[QUOTE="Dr_Snood"]I'm sick of Cal of Duty games.. Black Ops is the last one I will ever buy.crusadernm
I've heard this before and the monster continues to grow. Why is this? I'm serious.
Between CoD4 and Black Ops, nothing great has changed. The graphics sure, and some components in the multiplayer but besides that, nothing changed over the course of Cod4, World at War, Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops. Treyarch and Infinity Ward aren't making any effort to improve on the CoD franchise. Black Ops graphics looks pathetic compared to games such as Bad Company 2 and Crysis. The Multiplayer is the same thing we've been playing since Call of Duty 4, just more killstreaks and customization.Using the term "King of Kings" is very subjective. And I doubt that Modern Warfare 3 will be the highest rated game of 2011 through my crystal ball.

because every casual gamer on the planet buys this crap. I know at least 5 people that ONLY play call of duty games, and never anything else. its sad...
hope it starts to combust in some 13 year old kids hands at launch so i can lol :P yes im evil.
the real game to be looking for come fall is defo battlefield 3 tbh looks infinitely better.
Cant wait :) I enjoyed playing both previous MW titles so along BF3 & Brink, MW3 is one of my most anticipated fps this year..
Just hope they include those SPEC-OPS missions, and possibly upto 4 player co-op...
I don't get the hype for these games.. I mean sure they might be good to those who like them and that's fine with me, but actually getting hyped months in advance baffles me. There will be another CoD next year and the improvements will be minimal.
Eh...
No. Heck no. Nuhuh. nononononono.
I dont want to hear anything about this anymore. Everyone knows its gonna be a 4 and a half hours singleplayer again + a rehashed multiplayer that they are gonna sell for 60 bucks. Back in the day we called this an expansion and they charged us no more then 30 bucks.
Nope. Im not gonna get anywhere near this and thats that
There is barely 10,000 people in the world who will have the kind of vendetta SW does against the COD franchise, most kings are like the **** on my shoe anyway, it should only have to do with their clout, not their public acceptance.
MW3 will sell more than BlOp, for the sheer fact that most people don't spend their lifes critiquing every (or any) single problem games compartively have. It exactly why Britains got talent and Michael bay films get more and more popular. They get the media to print any crap they can about it and the general populace will get hyped regardless.
Recently, it's been crushing these franchises without any difficulty. If the quality doesn't go down anytime soon, and both IW and Treyarch find their own ways of improving on CoD in different fields, all of the franchises will be transcended in a couple of years. And then fanboys like you will cry.RRTTWAAA
I'm a fanboy of good games, and CoD is casual crap, deal with it and move on.
And you are wrong. Mario, Pokemon, Tetris, The Sims, Wii Sports (lmao), FIFA, Need for Speed, GTA, Final Fantasy, Maden NFL, Sonic, Grand Turismo, Zelda, Ape Escape (lmao), Dragon quest -> all have much higher sales than CoD, which like i said, is barely a blip on the radar.
Mario, Pokemon, Tetris, Sims and Wii Sports all being the top 5 selling franchises of all times.
CoD is trash that is forgettable, and by the way, sales don't matter for enjoying a game. But since you claim they do..
-> CoD is barely comparable to the ones i mentioned.

Peer pressure, media attention and marketing hype. In the months before the release of a CoD game, it's literally everywhere, and media do their best to manipulate you into buying it. The marketing makes you feel like you're missing out if you don't buy it, and that strategy often does miracles to convince many sceptical gamers to give it 'one last try'.
That being said, the last CoD game I bought was MW1, and that was because it was on sale.

The franchise keeps growing and getting more popular. You'd think that the year after year releases would start to put people off the series, but nope it continues to dominate in sales and reviews etc....Please Log In to post.
