[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] It was pretty f*cking good. jg4xchamp
It really wasn't. It was walk through nice environment for a few minutes while listening to banter. Set piece, then weaving in and out of room with scripted sequences. I would expect you not to get a hard on over that. The only compelling thing in that stage demo to me is that people love their cinematic gaming. I frankly didn't see anything great there. It was different setting uncharted. I like Uncharted (well I love Uncharted 2 anyway) but meh, I can't be sold on a game from that.
I'm not too fond of the game being set piece and scripting heavy if it is. That said the demo they showed was good
That said I love the survival side of the game. Limmited ammo(which isn't done a lot these days), resource management, and a f*cking health bar. The pace of the game isn't bombastic as Uncharted is. It's a lot slower. The tone of the game is darker as well. The intensity and tension was all there, even if a lot of it is presentation oriented.
I'm not sold on the PR buzz that the AI is dynamic and that sequence was dynamic. But Naughty Dog is showing stuff behind closed doors to show how different that sequence can be to the point of completely skipping it. So there is plenty of buzz around this game to be interested in, and that footage was a lot better than the countless man shooter counterparts. Basically I loved that it was more willing to take it slow.
As for a hard on for it? Nah not really. But I'm interested in that a lot more than say
More F*cking Halo
More F*cking New Mario Bros(those games are so stale)
More F*cking God of War
Now Dishonored? That's my sh1t for E3.If this game comes out and its not as scripted as that demo had me, I will shut the hell up and never ever question naughty dog again. That said, I personally like my odds a lot.
Whay I saw was a different Uncharted, now I never said it was bad, (it was just more uncharted like gameplay reallly) but I'm not floored by any means. It wasn't anything to make me say, wow that gameplay looks engaging and this is going to be something I haven't experienced. That's what it takes to straight up impress me. Watch Dogs impressed me, that was something I have never really seen before to that degree. This, I need more. as far as closed door shat, you know I don't listen to anything gaming media has to say about anything. I've played a lot of video games where you can skip a sequence, that's not dynamic, that's called doing things in a specific way to skip a sequence.
Like I said, what I saw was not that good, I'm not going to let myself be impressed by an average sequence and the promise that it can be different, I'm not gonna be fooled like a lot of people around here. Show it to me or its speculation plain and simple. I'll agree its more interesting than mario, god of war and halo though and I'll agree low ammo and non regenrating health are also pluses to have.
Haven't checked out dishonoured though.
