Depends what you mean by Greatest. I don't beleive , on paper, that it'sthe best game ever; but it is certainly my favorite ever.
It's the only game I can say personally that could not have been improved in any significant way given the hardware it was on.
In comparison to Super Mario Galaxy? Can't tell due to too many factors. But the factors are inclined towards Super Mario Galaxy, so I'll call it a great game.Video_Game_King
When you compare a game made this year to a game made 9 years ago, a lot of factors due tend to be better on the game made more recently, yet that doesn't make it better in the slightest.

No, I mean the impact it had back then versus today. I did not buy Ocarina of Time when it came out, so I did not feel the impact of the game when it "mattered". I got Super Mario Galaxy on Day 1, and it blew me away. I wasn't speaking of graphics, music, or anything like that.

Ahh, gotcha.
OK I have to say this...
When OoT came out I reserved it, got the special gold cartridge. I played it all thanksgiving weekend that year. It was amazing looking it was new it was fresh but... it was way to boring, I felt like I was running around these giant dungens that werejust not very challenging.
NowTP on the other handwas perfect. I felt like it took all of the good things from OoT and WW and got rid of the crappy parts. I know this is a no no for a nintendo freak to say so...*leavesthread in shame*

I thought Twilight Princess was shallow and linear; the exact opposite of OoT.

OoT less challenging then TP?
IMO its was and still is the greatest game ever made.Gimli524agreed, I still play the game now and then.
It's up there
but Majora's Mask is superior IMO >_>

I shun your opinion! *shuns Shinobishguy's opinion.*

wasn't that Majoras Mask? :|OK I have to say this...

[QUOTE="Blommen"]a lot of great games dont have multiplayerStupid game. It doesn't even have multiplayer:lol:
oatts
hehe I should probably had put a /sarcasm on that one, this after all sw:P
But seriously I have never been very happy about this game. I love the newer zelda's(especially ww) but the old ones are kind of meh for me. The best one of the oldies is Majoras mask imo.
I think OoT is one of the greatest games of all time.
But now, I'm saddend to saythat I thinkZelda games are way too overrated now. Twilight Princess was somewhat of a letdown and I have absolutely no desire to play Phantom Hourglass.

The gold cartridge for OoT was/is extremely rare...
...unlike the gold cartridge for the original Zelda.

Really? I thought the game took everything good of Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask then destroyed it,But after the first 2 dungeons, it began slowly rebuiding itself, only to get knocked back down with seemingly unimpressive dungeon design that seemed more annoying than easy or hard....[QUOTE="super_mario_128"][QUOTE="DaBrainz"]OK I have to say this...

The dungeons were too easy and you didn't get a sense of accomplishment after completing a puzzle. Quite a disaster on many levels.

Imagine a Hyrule the size of the cities in Assassins Creed:o
I would buy that game immediately!
