It doesn't make sense to put "FLOP" next to AA, because if we vote AA, and it gets AA, then that is not a flop, it meets the hype. You can't assign "flop" to the score value as that is what we are hyping.

d'awwwww, whenever i see a Zelda thread i get myself excited thinking its new media. But nice hype thread regardless.

A little off topic but today i walked into the living room and my little brother was playing TP. I loved the game at launch and had great fun with it, but it did slip from my mind alot quicker than other Zelda games. Watching him, the game looks amazing. The graphics look alot better than those jaggy screens most people posted. Diving from a hillside cliff into Lake Hylia, fishing at the hole and running through castle town just reminded me how theres been nothing released like Zelda since TP (Okami came before). People should go back and play it again. I will once SS draws near.

You can't really blame anyone for voting AA on this Zelda either. So far Nintendo hasn't really SHOWN anything that says this will be any different from TP, despite the motion control and artstyIe.

I would be happy to be a sheep. With Kirby's Epic Yarn, DKCR, and Epic Mickey coming up, they have a lot to look foward to.

I don't know if you noticed but the poll says 46% AAAE and 20% AAAAE. That makes the hype AAAE, not AAE like you said. Anyone voting AAE is probably playing it safe since we can never be sure with Gamespot.

I don't think Nintendo's first party standards have lowered this gen at all, on Metacritic Metroid Prime 3 is AAAE with a 90, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are the highest scoring Mario games ever both with a 97, and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has a 95. Sooo with SMG1, 2, and Zelda: TP, that makes it 3 out of the last 5 years the highest scoring game on Metacritic was a Nintendo first party exclusive. This gen Nintendo also holds one GOTY award and a perfect 10 score. I don't see any dropping standards there.

By the way Metroid Other M was mostly handled by Team Ninja, so Nintendo can't take much of the blame. Retro Studios is different, they're a first party, but Team Ninja is a 3rd party.
