The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD New Video, Plus Gamecube vs Wii U Video

Okay, so several things:

• That video has major story spoilers. If you have not played The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker before, do not watch any of those (especially considering Wind Waker actually had a strong narrative with some pretty shocking twists).
• It looks absolutely gorgeous. I know some people like to complain about the bloom, but I think it's the most perfect translation of the Wind Waker artstyle into HD possible.
• The new improvements (interface, more items equippable, Miiverse support, faster sailing, streamlined Triforce Quest) all seem to make a masterpiece even better
• DAT SOUNDTRACK

Nintendo is making it very hard for me to resist the Wii U at this point. I'm very tempted to pick up the Wii U Wind Waker bundle.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD will be available exclusively on Wii U starting September 20 on the eShop, and in October in stores. It will retail for $50.

Overall, it seems like they did a great job. The bloom seems excessive, but TBH, the art-style is still phenomenal.

Also, other means of playing the games in HD, also render excellent quality graphics.

I agree. It's my second fav Zelda game of all time.

I think the bloom does a great job in getting the tropical nature of The Wind Waker's look across. They're only using it outdoors for that reason, where it actually adds to the game's visuals, instead of detracting from them. charizard1605

I can't disagree there. Personally, I think it's mildly excessive, but that being said, it definitely adds to the IQ, and definitely makes it somewhat of a spectacle.

Gamecube version still looks good today. This art-style age very well, not like those games that go for the "realistic look".

oh for sure, but Windwaker HD is clearly the best game on the system now.  I know I shouldn't be offended by it but I am.  It's just like the "new play control" games on the wii.  It's a smart move because it takes very little resources to make and it is likely that a lot of people haven't played the games, but their most hardcore fans have played the games.  It also takes resources away from original game development.  

I've evolved over time to the opinion that it is offensive to long-time fans.  They are making a console that is better for a new Nintendo gamer than it is for true fan.  Also, despite the fact that these remakes are cheap to make, there are other options.  They could make one original game instead of 5 remakes.  They could do the Majora's Mask thing and make an original game with recycled assets.  I would be stoked for a Windwaker 2 game that recycled character sprites, items, etc. and made a new adventure with it.

4 Swords Adventures is actually really good even if you're jsut doing it for singleplayer... Believe it or not, there is some solid level design and it has good replayability (since it's level based).  It's worth playing.

Get it done. Don't expect to be "blown away" like you will be with widn waker but it's still a good time.

But your top priority should be WW. Best Zelda game, aside from Majora's Mask, of couse ;)

As Charizard said, it has a fantastic atmosphere of adventure, tons to do, great graphics, an orgasmic soundtrack and an awesome story.

I sadly never beat this on GameCube. I've owned it since day 1 but I only played for an hour or so from whay I recall. I'm excited to get it on the Wii U and go to town.

Probably will be awhile before I play it because of GTA/Pokemon (among other things), but I'm definitely excited.
