The legend of zelda because it wasn't influenced by any previous game. Ocarina of Time is considered the greatest game of all time and I personally love the zelda games.

I like TES better, more variety in the games, whereas in most LOZ games some of the biggest differences are whether you'll get the grappling hook or the boomerang first.
Sure why fix was isn't broken but i feel that most zelda games are the same

The Zelda series includes my all-time favorite game (Majora's Mask) and also is more consistently good than Elder Scrolls. So that. Elder Scrolls is my second-favorite, though.

I'd take TES.

If you played one Zelda game you've played them all.

This is the most truthful statement about Zelda. Seriously, each zelda game brings some small gameplay elements but nothing ever feels different. I prefer variety over the same thing.

I don't really like either, but I guess I would have to say Zelda, but mainly because I have only played Oblivion and it sucked, while I have played a few Zelda games, some being ok.

 You have got to be kidding me.... So Legend Of Zelda was the same as Zelda 2? Or A link to the past was the same as Oracle of seasons or Minish Cap or even Phantom hour glass? Is Ocarina of time the same as Majoras Mask.... :|

Legend of Zelda is one of the best series of all time, its hard to compare anything to it.

I enjoy Zelda series a lot more, there are a couple times where I really enjoy TES but majority of the time I just find it was just okay. I however enjoy almost 95% of my time in Zelda games, yes I even enjoyed sailing!

Well its clear you havn't played many Zelda games.... But ill be more than happy to show and explain....

Zelda 1....

Legend of Zelda Wind waker...there goes that comparision.

Just from those two screens it disproves what you said... Each Zelda game is completely different in its own way. By your logic thats like saying every FPS is the same because they all have guns and you shoot things...

I'm an original Zelda fan. I was there on release of the first game and played the series through to the N64. But when it moved to 3D it lost that magic for me, I prefered the 2D Zeldas.

That said, TES offers me a whole lot more to do with my game than Zelda, and if you've beat Zelda, then you've beat Zelda. With TES, there's always more MODs or a different character to roll up and play through with.

So I'm going with TES for the diversity of the experience.

They differ on the fine points, but except for MM, they are basically the same concept over and over: find bombs, find boomerang, find gimmick weapon and use it a jillion times, kill ganon for the jillionth time

Zelda on N64 blew my mind as a child.

But as I have gotten olderI find I can't play games like Zelda anymore.

Games like Oblivion are more for me.

I like both series. Comparing a RPG to an action-adventure doesn't feel right, but in terms of quality and content I think Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind are better than any Zelda, and any Zelda is better than Oblivion (because Oblivion is an action-adventure too, but not as good as a The Legend of Zelda game).

Personally, I don't think you can compare them because they are vastly different. LoZ is an action rpg that is amazing to explore and defeat monsters but is pretty linear in terms of quests and what there is to do while elder scrolls has hundreds of quests and npc's. I like both but too different to pick 1.

I wish these fad "VS" topics would just die.

But to stay on-topic and avoid getting modded; Zelda.

No, it's linear. You're forced to play it in the same order each time because you can't go through a dungeon without some item you got in a previous dungeon. That's pretty much what the games are based around, except for Zelda 1.
