They were thinking "everyone says the iPad is eating the casual game market, so let's trick casuals into thinking our system comes with an iPad."[QUOTE="AHUGECAT"]

Like how the PC market is trying to cater to the same crowd?
Also besides the touch screen is the Gamepad any different from a traditional controller?

It's fair to say the same things to All in one PCs. Heck they're becoming more and more common by the day.

The difference is an all in one PC can surpass an iPAD and then do alot more. Whereas the nintendo Wii U controller doesnt do jack s***.The difference is an all in one PC can surpass an iPAD and then do alot more. Whereas the nintendo Wii U controller doesnt do jack s***.MBirdy88
But they're both catering to that same crowd.
The average iPad user probably wouldn't take a look at what the All in one PC can or might offer, so if the All in one PC has the power to play Say Skyrim with some mods running too, then what's the point if all the Casual gamer does is play Solitare or Angry Birds?
game developers these days are lazy, capcom is setting the example that others are following,(lets cry to nintendo to make a hd console when they do lets not support it because we dont want change)

except Capcom is giving Nintendo some decent support.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Resident Evil Revelations Unleashed are slated for this spring for WiiU.
didn't think that huh MK64fan?

Well I would wait myself until around fall or so, but I was rather impatient. :P
For the gamepad, its extremely comfortable to me and I have large sort of skinny hands. The screen isn't capacitative which sucks, but the single touch mechanism is still good enough for videogames in general. The buttons are well placed to me, but the L/R could be slightly better. The screen is glossy and it gets dirty quickly so have a cloth ready. The gamepad is very light like an xbox controller and isn't very large imo. The screen as you probably know can switch games from the TV to it depending on if the game has that feature (I'm sure most of the Ninty ones will have this in some way), or have any other features in place of it. You can use it to watch TV, but the issue comes from it not being able to click on your TV with the box unfortunately. It can also multitask well like for example: you can watch TV while playing a game on the screen at the same time. Oh yeah and like Last said the gamepad battery life isn't the best but if you are like me, you won't really be leaving your system often and laying on the bed with the charger cord connected is acceptable.
You can keep TV schedules on it with the TVii program which is cool and watch many things in a snap. The OS is a little slow in getting into apps but for me its not so bad. The internet is pretty fast though and if you are playing a game the search will automatically put your game as one of the entries if you want a quick look up, and the Miiverse is a great way to find out and talk about games (its like a gamer facebook), not to mention a good place to look at all the freaking great art that comes from fans. :)Â
Oh and you can take a crap while playing on it if the bathroom is like a wall away from your play area (best feature ever!). :P
I might have left some out but thats the gist of it.
[QUOTE="LastRambo341"][QUOTE="AHUGECAT"]Its the best thing ever! :Dwhat do you like about it, and what don't you like about it? It provides something new, innovative and refreshing. Games like Nintendoland use it really well and you could play full games (some) on it. It is light and comfortable The only downside I can think of is that if it breaks, you'll have to send it to Nintendo and u cant browse without it (I could be wrong), u cant browse with the wiimote or the wiiU pro controller if u dont have the WiiU gamepad. They'll have to start selling individual WiiU gamepads soon. Also, the power consumption drains the battery quick. Depending on the brightness, sound, power-saving mode etc. the gamepad lasts 3-5 hoursThe Wii U gamepad is the worst thing to ever hit gaming. What the heck was Nintendo thinking?! Were they?!
