An unending supply of money to throw advertisisng, R&D, timed exclusivity. Not to mention the North American bond they share with North American developers and the highest third party sales all but gaurantees them lead development status in most games like we saw with the 360.

No matter what the competition do, MS will just be relentless and send in more and more firepower until their competition is completely dominated.

If Windows 8 is a flop and people hate the Metro interface, Microsoft is in deep trouble. People already don't care about Windows Phone 7. They are definitely in a weaker position than at the beginning of last gen.
