Don't forget to flip the switch on your surge protector so the 360 will look like its RROD.

The majorly silly thing about the post is that it WAS under warranty; which we know because he kindly provided us with timeframes. He didnt have to say that at all but he did and shot himself in the foot.

As for "investigating warranty issues"; a fold-out warranty information card is the first thing you see when opening a new 360.

Yeah I honestly wouldn't have a problem with this thread if there was no way for him to replace the 360 for free. Instead he blames his faults on MS. Of course MS isn't an angel in the story since in reailty it is their fault the problem is there in the first place, but still it comes with an easy and free fix but this guy instead decided to go the hard route and spend money which is no one's fault but his own.

lol this is exactly why I made that post a little while back about everyone in here agree's that RROD is a problem. There is always going to be someone that come's in that tries to make everyone else besides the TC out to be a bad guy. Of course I guess it's sorta futile since people like him don't even read the thread and just pull staments out of their natures pocket.

Read the damn thread instead of making a fool out of yourself. It's been stated in this thread that no one is defending MS. Everyone in this thread clearly know's the RROD is a problem. What is happening in this thread is that people are calling him out on HIS story which is full of holes.

what do you expect people to do? obviously microsoft is aware if the problem and are doing what they can to make things easier for owners. i don't see people prasing microsoft for the RROD;only for actually doing something about it. the ps2's DRE was a huge problem last gen and cows are doing everything they can to pretend it wasnt.

i have yet to see one 360 fan to say "RROD isnt a issue"

I am only suggesting it is no big deal and I am defending the system for its quality games. I am not suggesting I like RROD. I am suggesting it is idiotic to be scared off by it. Besides, I don't think you actually read the OP or any post up to the point at which you posted.

True. I do think that people who use RROD as a crutch to bash the system or those that suggest that is why they did not but the system are full of it. If a platform has a game I really want to play, even one, I make the purchase.

I even bought a Wii that I later got rid of. Not that the Wii is a bad system but I only bought it for one game and after that I never played the thing. Besides, I can not support three major systems based on time alone, much less four.

I know you guy's are going to take one look at my user I.D. and just consider me another troll, but in all honesty Microsoft made me into a PS3nut, i mean don't get me wrong i had a PS2 back when but i traded up for an original Xbox, in fact i got up at 3am to wait outside a Best Buy for 5 hours that cold day in NOV 0f 2001, and i was really happy with it, i picked up Halo and Football, NFL Fever i think and collected title after title until 2005 when i did it all over again accept it was a different Best Buy and this time i waited 20 long hours in the rain.

A lot of people thought we were crazy, but it was all worth it to those of us on the line, but believe it or not that 360 i waited all those hours for gave me my first Red Ring on the very first day, So i took it back to Best Buy that night and they actually remembered me from the line and gave me full credit on a new one when there next shipment came in, then that 360 lasted about 6 months before the Red Ring came back and at that time there was no warranty, but i had a good collection of games and my local game store gave me store credit on the games and hard drive, and then i bought another 360, which lasted about 7 months before it's Red Ring, now by that time the PS3 was out and so was the 360 Elite, which i was told by my game store guy's that it was supposed to have a bigger heat sink and a cooler running chipset, so again i bought a 360 Elite and 2 weeks later...Yup you guessed it Red Ring of Death, so by this time my game store guy's felt so bad for me that they offered to swap it for whatever i wanted.

Now i've been know to be a glutton for punishment but enough was enough i was going broke and so i told them to give me a 60-gig PS3 and that was almost 2 years ago and guess what ?, the PS3 has not given me one bit of trouble and i've played a lot of great titles on it for endless hours, and all the headaches and expense i had with Microsofts console, not to mention the Live membership i paid for and lost compared to Zero headaches with the PS3 and the free online, i have built up a deep hatred for Microsoft. How ever i do admit today i own both consoles because there are some exclusives i choose not to live without, such as Halo, Mass Effect, Fable 2, Gears of War, on the PS3 side Gran Turismo 5, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Killzone 2, God of War 3 so now in 2008 i have my consoles but i'll always prefer the reliability of the PS3's hardware and because of the Red Ring i will buy all multi platform releases on PS3 and only 360 exclusives on Xbox 360, so as not to endure a big loss again in games if my 360 goes Red Ring...and there you have it, thats how Microsoft created this PS3nut.

what are those great titles? i'm serious, i just got a ps3 and have played pretty much all the exclusives except hs, lair, untold legend, and ratchet. i've played a lot of good games like resistance and uncharted. but i've only played one great game mgs4.

yeah, my roommate and i are going to split it. so yeah ten bucks a month isn't bad.

especially since between the both me and my roommate we ownn all 3 systems and most games can be beaten in 10 hours or under. it really saves money.

Hm... Sad story, if true. Don't blame you, but most will, mostly lemmings, or manticores with a leaning towards being a lemming. Thing is, I haven't had any trouble with my 360 for the year I have owned it, but my PS3 doesn't play PS2 discs anymore, and PS1 discs crash frequently... And now it's even having trouble reading regular DVDs, so I'm a bit annoyed, but I should be able to send it in and get it fixed free, if it comes to that(I hope.)
