Man, I remember Gamecube launch day.
I wouldn't include handhelds, because most of them do look good and have their own appeal.
In terms of home console, PS2 Slim I think. Also the Wii U main unit deserves some credit.
I'm going to throw out my opinion on consoles my manufacturer.
Nintendo: I really like the NES for it's 80's look. I don't like the look of the European SNES much, but the American SNES is awful. I like what they were going for with the N64. The GC, I'm not sure, I like the Panasonic Q, but there's too much of a Fisher Price thing going on with the GC. The Wii is okay, but I don't think it holds up. As I said, the Wii U will just look good where ever you put it I think.
Sega: Tbh, I'm not overly fond of any of the Sega designs.
Playstation: The original PS has become iconic, it's Playstations NES moment. The PSOne is nice. The PS2 is horrendous, the PS2 Slim is probably one of the nicest. The PS3 is is just too big looking. The PS3 Slim is actually really nice, It's descrete but very nice. The Super Slim looks a bit cheap. The PS4 is nice, the PS4 Slim is okay, the PS4 Pro looks nasty. Sony consoles SHOULD be the nicest. Sony has made some of the nicest looking DVD players that come to my mind.
MS: Xbox erm, very American. Xbox 360 E I like the most, because it doesn't make its presence known if that makes any sense, not sure if that's a compliment. Xbox One... **** off MS.
I really liked the simplicity of the GameCube, though admittedly I never had one. I had a Wii w/ GC BC.
The mini beast computer I built in this guy: http://nfc-systems.com/s4-mini/
It counts as a console, right? Same form-factor - a little smaller than a PS4 actually.. Only difference is it runs Windows 10. It is compatible with all standard wireless controllers via bluetooth. It even uses an external power brick!
Looks pretty cool.
@pimphand_gamer: Wow, SNK. That brings back memories. There was one kid in our whole town that had one, so we were always over there playing Fatal Fury and Art of fighting 2.
Weren't those things like $700 back in the day?
Finally gotten rid of that border around the bottom screen. I really thought that didn't look good and even made a thread about it before xD
I'd love it if the 2DS XL didn't have that smartphone 3rd party cover look on top and the contrasting dpad and facebutton colors. Didn't like it with GoW GoS PSP either but to each their own. It can give devices a "personality" I guess.
Gamecube
Ps2 was pretty badass looking too
Switch is pretty awesome looking and it just encourages u to pick it up and play portable.

$599 if I recall and it came with Magician Lord. Later they had a version without the game I believe. They sold their games based on the cart size which were non compressed. In all honesty looking back, I firmly believe it was more marketing BS than anything as compressed data on smaller megabit carts could run just as fast on the same 68000 CPU. The rumor is that SNK's programmers often had to fill the remaining memory with random data just to fill up the remainder size of ROM left. Apparently if they say wanted to make a 143 megabit title and the game ended up only consuming 100 mb's, the remaining 43 would be random fluff data.
I also find it hard to believe that the 68000 and Z80 CPU's and whatnot could really cost that much to manufacture back then as they were chosen due to how common all the parts were but who knows. The SNES later had titles upwards of 24 megabits and had more content than some Neogeo titles but it was weaker hardware so...
