The most excellent action game in the history of gaming

What is the most pleasurable action game that you have ever played? Mine is Gears of War.

As far as pure heart pounding action... I would agree, Gears of War... at least that's all I can think of right now.

Playing that game for the first time felt like an action movie.

I have not played all action games in the history of gaming, but out of those that I have played, Gears of War is the finest, according to me.

Its pretty mutch confirmed they allready have raised the quality, haha but I guess that wasnt a hard task since Geow barely had a story. I will beat the singelplayer a coupple of times ofcourse but Multiplayer is where I will spend my time at.

Golden Axe 2, I'm sure there is better, but that's the sidescroller that comes to mind.

Recently, Mafia, superb game.

EDIT: The Simpsons arcade game was another great sidescroller, one of the only games I completed in the arcade :)

Ninja Gaiden (Xbox)

followed by the first God of War, han probably DEAD RISING

Possibly, it carried the action better than Halo did. I don't care about Cortana! Go away!!!!!

Gameplay isnearly perfect, the story was involving (important with a video game, doesn't have to be emo for it to be good)

Yes, and Gears of War is an action game, as well.

Return To Castle Wolfenstien. While it might not be the best over-all first person shooter I'v played (that would be the original Halflife), it is probably the mostfunI've had with an action oriented game.

Max Payne is, without a doubt, a vastly good action game.
