The most ridiculous claim about games or systems you've ever heard?

My casual not-really-gamer friend watching me play crysis on mostly med/highs @ 1680x1050 then declaring that he will get it when its out on ps3 as it will probably look better.

I am not joking, but hes not really a gamer so he dosen't know these things and he kind of expects the ps3 to be some super machine as he paid $1000AU for it, and so he damn well should.

the most common sad claim/statement would be 'KZ2 will flop because its a sequel to KZ1'

I know that there are braille users on SW when I see someone claim that MGS4 or Killzone 2 are visually superior to Crysis.

I also know that some people are missing brains when I find claims of the PC dying or lacking variety or having too small a library.

Some Kid I Know Says How Much The PS3 and Wii Sucks and That The 360 is so much better and has way more games. I look at his games list on XBL and i see Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty World at War.

Edit: He Also has Shaun White Snowboarding, Rockband, and GH:WT.

That PCs cost $3000. That argument is just laughable.

Whats even worse is when somebody posts a $600 PC build. That is even worse. They just assume you have a decent monitor, speakers/headphones, keyboard, mouse, and don't mind upgrading in the near future and skipping on parts now.

Meh, I am far from an expert but its still not instant and just because you are on fibre optic cable doesnt mean that the whole of the world/backbone infrastructure of the tinterweb is and doesnt mean that you are lag free. The nature of the beast means that there will always be a delay, even if its tiny.

The best PS3 quotes I ever saw sadly no longer exist as the thread has been deleted. It was on a PS3 fanboy forum discussing the possibility of Crysis working on PS3, which of course without an alternative view other than "PS3 is a super computer" resulted in absolutely ridicules rationalizations.

To give two examples...

PS3 can do DX10 by emulating it on Cell.

PS3 can get around memory limitations by using Blu-ray as ram.

Generally these people aren't any good at the game they've mentioned and haven't played them competitively.

In regard to ridicules claims, any exclusive console gamer who thinks they know more about PC gaming than PC gamers. I'm talking about console gamers who have the cheek to declare XYZ about PC gaming when they have probably never built a rig in their life; or worse yet those that apply console mentalities to PC when making an argument.

The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second, the Earth has a circumference of 25,000 miles, so even if a Fiber Optic conection had to travel around the entire Earth, it would still only take a fraction of a second, so yes, you could say its basically lag free, depending on the servers of course.

MGS4 seriously is an awesome game, though.

... and lastly, and most importantly, whenever a non-fighting game community person opens their mouth to talk about fighting games, and they act like they know a lot about fighitng games. It just seems worse for fighting games because Street Fighter IV is released now and along with plenty of respectful newcomers, there are scrubs everywhere!

Examples: "Honda is broken in Super Turbo HD Remix." NO!

or "Ryu/Ken/Akuma is the best team in Marve vs Capcom 2." LOL!

or "Grabs are cheap." Please.

It was from my nephew Moses yesterday who declares he is such a Nintendo fan and owns a Wii that he rarely plays. He plays my PS3s constantly/daily and his Wii about 1-2 times a month. He plays Burnout Paradise, Warhawk, Supersonic Battle Cars and much-much more and has the time of his life on the PS3 daily.

Then yesterday while we were in Toys "R" US right after he and some other boys were at a PS3 kiosk had been playing Motorstorm and having a great time, he turns to me and says "the Wii is the funnest system and way better than the PS3". I replied "Then why do you practically only play the PS3 and live it up while playing online and offline way more than you have ever done with your Wii?" He just turned away and shrugged his shoulders. :roll:

A close 2nd is something I've heard several times on here and it's by 360 fans. I have told them of my ex 360 breaking twice and my brother in law having 5 break and they always say "that's Cows for you just making up stuff, because I've had my 360 since launch and it has always ran great".

Both of these are obvious people in complete denial of the truth they know within themselves.

May have been mentioned but some said "MGS4 runs at 1080p because my TV says so".

And "The PS3 has a better black than the Xbox 360".

It could be ported now, and it could run at 1080p at 30 fps. I know that for a fact on PS3, i'm not too sure about 360 its having troubles with the Unreal engine alone. I'm not sure how much AA it would have, but they would have to scale the game back and maybe add loading times in certain areas, also the some textures would be toned down, poly count lowered, less foilage in the enviroment,etc. But all in all it should look around the same, if not better in some areas.
