I believe Final Fantasy VIII to be the most under-rated RPG of all time. It's bold approach to realism was not well recieved in comparison to the cutesy and at times naucious charm of previous JRPGs. It was a real revolution as far as bringing RPGs into the true grown-up age, which it unfortunately is not credited for. Sadly, FFX -- arguably one of the worst the series has had to offer so far -- gets that praise.

I disagree. It was am amazing game, don't get me wrong, but Fallout 2 was a highly-praised crown jewel of Black Isle. Not overrated, but not underrated either.

I got the game and never finished it. It's god damn awful. 

I would say that this game is underrated as much as it is overshadowed by Oblivion. Morrowind. It's on e of the best games Ive ever played. It's much better than Oblvion.

Honestly I think it has got to be Kingdom Hearts

just because of the fact that a lot of people still don't take

it as seriously because it introduced Disney characters into the mix.

Whoever said FF7 is an idiot lol in my opinion I love FF7 but I think

its overrated. 

Skies of Arcadia. My favorite RPG of all time and barely anyone played it because it came out on DC.

We need to clearly define what underrated means.. Does it mean that a game got lower score than it deserved, or that it sold less then it should, or both.. In both categories, Planescape did better than Fallout 2, and by your logic, there is no way Planescape is underrated.. The thing is, Fallout 2 got about 85% or so which still means that its a great game, but it deserves 200% in all aspects :) and thats the main reason i find that game underrated.. In my opinion, underrated means less known and les aprecheated..

Any Mario-related RPG. Seriously, they deserve way more recognition.

Yggdra Union, Riviera, and Fire Emblem are also RPG's that deserve more attention. Same with Tales of Symphonia.

No, it was on the DS, and it is illegal to give any DS RPGs high scores, because innovation=teh suk!
