[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"][QUOTE="Dibdibdobdobo"] I just see it as parents blaming everything on anything else rather than looking in the mirror seeing why there children are screw ups. Violence does not do you any wrong. I had the choice to watch/play what i wanted and with the right parenting i did fine. My parents knew the differance between blaming everything else for there mistakes and looking at the real source which is bad parenting or naughty child.Dibdibdobdobo
[QUOTE="Dibdibdobdobo"]Ok. I've been watching violent movies and playing violent games since i was a toddler. Instead of watching The Karate Kid i wanted to watch Blood Sport or Kick Boxer. Instead of watching the Little Mermaid i watched Jaws. Instead of watching The Never Ending Story i'd rather watch Hellraiser. Cherokee_Jack
All kids want to watch and play violent things. That doesn't mean they should be allowed to just because violence happens in real life.
i think if you raise your kid right, they can watch whatever the hell they want. You should still try to prevent them from watching inappropriate content, because that will send the message that the content is wrong -- but i mean, they are going to get into the stuff by themselves. You can shelter your kids but once they go to a public school you have no control over the conversations they engage in.if violent media influences a child to serious extents, then the problem is a lot bigger than then the media itself.
