Devil Survivor Overclocked

Tales of the Abyss

Kingdom Hearts 3D

Code of Princess

Etrian Odyssey IV

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Fire Emblem Awakening

Paper Mario Sticker Star

Shin Megami Tensei: Soul Hackers

Crimson Shroud

Unchained Blades

With upcoming games that have been confirmed for North American release, including:

Mario and Luigi 4

Pokemon X and Y

Shin Megami Tensei IV

Project X Zone

Fantasy Life

And finally, some more 3DS games that are just pending a confirmation of their western localization (but which are almost certainly going to release here):

Bravely Default

Devil Survivor 2: Code Break

Dragon Quest 7

It's absolutely brilliant, and it looks like the JRPG love will only continue to come (especially from Atlus, who seem to have thrown all their weight behind the system).

How many of those games have you played? Any more that you are looking forward to?

All hail 3DS, the king of JRPGs.

Out of pure random curiosity, are those genital qualities common among Indian males?

Why are you listing imports? If you count imports the PSP is the handheld JRPG platform to go to as it's still getting quality JRPG's in addtion to the 70+ that never came to America. In N.A. for a newer system the 3DS is but it has a long way to go before it touches the PSP or DS in JRPGs.

Agreed though I wish some of those were on the Vita. It's unfortunate not all of them are on the Eshop. I'd love to do an all digital library like I've been doing with the Vita. Nothing says portable like carrying a case full of little cartridges.

Wasn't it that way with the DS as well? Handheld gaming is evry popular in Japan, and with specs like the DS and 3DS, it helps keep development costs down.

I listed them as titles that have not been confirmed for NA yet, and are pending an announcement.

By who? Depending on whatever site you go on, you'll see if classified as different things. MH has no characters stats or levels. It's purely about gathering resources and making new equipment and fighting monsters.

By Capcom, so take it up with them. As long as Soul Sacrifice and the like are listed as JRPGs on this forum, what is the problem with Monster Hunter being listed too? Why are you all nitpicking overt the inclusion of one title anyway? If it bothers you that much, pretend it's not listed there and move on.

Don't see how when the gameplay is vastly different from usual ARPGs like Crisis Core, Ys, Kingdom Hearts, Phantasy Star, Cladun, etc.

I'd personally classify it as an action-adventure game with RPG elements (character creation counts I guess).

there is a stat system, it's all tied to the armor you're wearing. Whenever a value gets to +10 or -10 you get the buff or reduction

I don't know, it's getting there. It took the DS library eight years to amass to its current state, the 3DS library is already outpacing it.

PSP's lineup was also fantastic, and easily filled my 3D handheld gaming needs. Most of the time though, I was playing other games besides RPGs on it, like GoW, MGSPW, GTA LCS, etc. My FF:CC file got reset, but that was the latest JRPG I was playing on the PSP.

It may outpace it on JRPGs some time, but I'm pretty sure the DSes 8 or so years of being out gives it the upper hand.

I got no list for all the RPGs on each, but it would be foolish to think the 3DS is even close in that matter yet.

If you enjoyed Graces then yes. It's a step back concerning the battle system but story, characters and gameworld are better.

Last time I played a Tales game was Symphonia.

If its gotten better than that, then awesome. I found a lot of things wrong about that game, but thought it was extremely addicting overall, so any improvement is welcome by me.

The *Definitive* PSP RPGs for Vita Thread

Don't know how old that thread is or when it's been updated last seeing as the TC's been banned. Besides, the PSP has some other amazing games in genres besides RPG.
