Huess I'm spinning this, but PS3 did sold more than the 360 last January. Japan included. Lemming Logic. Japan don't count...
So the final rundown is that wii is selling almost as much as 360 and ps3 combined worldwide? Amazing.Golden_surfer

[QUOTE="Nova_Mongoose"]It kinda surprised me that the Wii outsold the 360. Then again, it was bound to happen eventually. The real surprise was that 360 only outsold PS3 by 50k, because by my estimation 360 should be murdering a $600 console in sales.thinicer

The Wii is still going off of it's initial launch sales hype. I'd hope that they sell more than a $400 console and a $600 console, it's $250, it should sell more. The sales will slow though. Puckhog04all sales eventually slow. it'll still remain selling more than either of the other 2 until something drastic happens.
I'm going to go back and look for all the "360's aren't selling because of the PS3" threads in January.DaysAirlinesThere was one specific one, where the OT was written in somewhat this form. " When the NPD numbers come out, and shows the PS3 sold more in January than 360, what will Lemmings say" And later wrote "It will be the downfall of the 360, and PS3 will take the crown". Funny how these people don't show up for there ownage. But not every Sony fanboy claimed this, since some are smarter than to put there foot in there mouth.
You have to think that Microsoft is very encouraged by the January sales numbers. They outsold the new PS3 and are very close to finally overcoming the PS2 in monthly sales.Microsoft shouldn't be happy at all. PS3 has 1 good game, and thats R:FOM, and the PS3 was able to keep neck and neck all this time. Microsoft even had a new release in January with Lost Planet... but still only managed to sell 50k more.
They could really do some damage to Sony now if they drop the price.

There was also a rumored new version of the Xbox 360 which could've slowed the sales as well. Either way, it's Sony that needs the extreme amounts of sales that the Wii is getting (which is unsurprising seeing as it's $250 as opposed to $400 and $600), not the 360.
You forget, both the PS3 and Wii are still going off of initial launch hype. Both of which were outsold during christmas time by the 360.
[QUOTE="Ontain"][QUOTE="KeyWii"]PlayStation DominatesKeyWiiyou obviously overlooked nintendo then. PS3 = Priced higher than the Wii PSP = Priced higher than the DS PS2 = Priced higher than the GBA and GC
Sounds like damage control to me.
Regardless of the price, Nintendo is still dominating. This is a fact.

lol Funny. Xbox is easily 3rd. Nintendo and Sony are fighting for 1st and 2nd.get out of 2001... ;)
Guys lets not forget that the PS3 is outselling the 360 launch numbers...
Anyways, beside damage control I have to put in, the PS3 never had a chance of outselling the 360 in January, anyone who thought that is naive. This is not "ownage" though. 200k+ for a console in one month is good when it has received nothing but negative press and only has one standout game.

February should be about the same. We have VF5 and Formula 1: Championship Edition. Now March is the month of the PS3. Easily.KeyWii

You are in serious denial there chief.
Wow. How do you lie so much and so often with a straight face?
Wii = 435,503
PS2 = 299,352
360 = 293,744
PS3 = 243,554
DS = 238,869 since nobody reads my posts Reggie said that they werent able to ship enough DS's to the US. Retailers werent even getting restocked until the last half of the month. He also said the shipments wouldnt return to normal until march.
PSP = 210,719
GBA = 179,482
CUBE = 33,806
XBOX = 833
Microsoft has a little over 294,000 total sales for its game division. Pales in comparison to both Sony and Nintendo sales. Also, even if you were looking at just the top 3 -- Xbox 360 is still in 3rd LOSING to the PS2.
