GAMESPOT---------------
"Epic Mickey looks to combine elements from role-playing games, platformers, and adventure games, where the choices you make impact the world and the characters that populate it. Mickey is equipped with a magic paintbrush that allows him to create walls, characters, and other environmental objects. However, if you decide that destruction is more to your liking, you can use paint thinner instead and erase those very same characters and objects from the gameworld. This choice impacts how the world looks and how other characters react to you, giving you the freedom to craft a Mickey in your own image to change Disney's storied history." - source

GAMESRADAR-----------
"Anybody who isn't as in to Disneyana may just want to turn back and reread another Halo: Reach preview, because the cartoon talk is about to get absurdly deep. There's no other way to put it: For animation fans, Epic Mickey is an absolute revelation! Not only does the game spin a meta-yarn encompassing almost a century's worth of Disney legacy, it's rooted in fascinatingly bizarre historical accuracy. Kingdom Hearts cast the Disney menagerie as Square-Enix characters, but Epic Mickey… Epic Mickey could be the truest tale of fictional characters ever told." - source

DESTRUCTOID------
"There is so much that I'm leaving out here: the surprisingly evocative storyline (complete with hearts being ripped out of people's chests), the hundreds of collectibles, the 2D levels, the recreation of famous Disney cartoons and rides, but I really should save something for the review. As for now, I'll end by saying that Epic Mickey has a lot to offer for people who love the study of game design, ****c Disney, or just anyone who worships at the alter of imagination." -source

G4TV- 5/5
The Pros
- Daring reimagining of Disney's best known character
- Excellent level design packed with secrets and multiple ways to accomplish objectives
- Tons of references to obscure Disney characters and animation
- Paint/Thinner mechanic makes for high replay value
The Cons
- Camera can be difficult to manage
- 2D sidescrolling levels must be repeated often while traveling between areas

GAMESRADAR - 9/10
"For me, the surprises, historical reverence and inspired platforming creativity make this the Wii game of the year. Hopefully, it won't all be lost on the broad audience it's aiming for, because both Disney nuts and old school gamers will find Epic Mickey well worth their while. It's a life-affirming tribute to both forgotten characters and game genres well worth remembering, with an all new added twist. And contrary to how it looks, there's a startling amount of maturity and replayability wrapped within this family-friendly package." - source
------------------------------------------------------
GAMEREACTOR- 9/10
"If you feel like playing a game with Mickey Mouse, then things just don't get any better than Epic Mickey and it might just be the best non-Nintendo game on Wii. It's fun, charming, well polished, entertaining and fairly challenging. I have enjoyed every moment spent with Mickey, Oswald, Pete, Jiminy Cricket, Animatronic Goofy and the rest, and I'm already thinking about my next playthrough. Don't miss out on Mickey's journey through Wasteland."
------------------------------------------------------
Official NINTENDO Magazine UK - 85%
"The magazine, which is in the hands of subscribers now, praised the game's "touching" story which sees Mickey Mouse being sucked into the Wasteland where forgotten Disney characters such as Oswald The Rabbit reside". - source

Gametrailers - 8.2/10
Video Review
------------------------------------------------------
IGN- 8/10
"Warren Spector's team has created a mightily impressive foundation. They've managed to get the toughest stuff right – it seemed almost impossible to make Mickey Mouse matter once again. They've even managed to take a nearly dormant character in Oswald and introduce him in a spectacular way, making him one of the most memorable video game characters of the year." - source
------------------------------------------------------
THE GUARDIAN - 4/5
"Overall, though, Epic Mickey proves satisfyingly original, fun and absorbing – it's a pleasant, and at times interestingly twisted world in which to immerse yourself. At last, Mickey has a suitably credible means of making an impression on the world of video games."
------------------------------------------------------
VIDEOGAMER - 8/10
"It's clear that a lot of love went into making Disney Epic Mickey. The attention to detail in the environments is superb, with little touches here and there for fans to pick up on, and the many forgotten characters are excellent. The platforming is top notch when the camera doesn't get in the way, and the paint and thinner mechanics give the game a unique hook. Even with a smattering of issues that will cause annoyance, Disney Epic Mickey is a fine addition to the upper echelon of the Wii's software library."
------------------------------------------------------
CVG -7.5/10
"Then again, some of those faults - the camera especially - are integral to the overall game experience and should have been fixed before release, leaving the package feeling unpolished.
Disney Epic Mickey, with its freeform nature and deep exploration, has plenty of appeal - and completists and adventure fans may even adore it.
But its rough edges ultimately dampen its potential. If only it had been given an extra lick of paint..." - source
------------------------------------------------------
DESTRUCTOID - 7/10
"Epic Mickey falls short of brilliance, but because it stands on such a strong concept, it doesn't always need brilliance to remain compelling. This is a game that older (and younger) Disney fans could easily call their favorite of all time."
------------------------------------------------------
EUROGAMER - 6/10
"Fundamentally, Epic Mickey misunderstands what people love about Mickey Mouse. He simply doesn't fit in this grim, post-modern dystopia, dripping with bitter-sweet nods to forgotten corners of Disney lore, nor does he need to confront his dark commercial heart to stay relevant in 2010.
He just needs to be Mickey, with blue skies, wholesome adventures and bright primary colours. A game with the breezy aesthetic and technical polish of Super Mario Galaxy, starring Mickey, Donald, Goofy and friends would do more to rekindle our affection for the mouse than this admirable but flawed attempt at forced reinvention." -source
------------------------------------------------------
GAMESPOT - 6/10
"Imprecise controls and boring objectives make progress a chore, and a troublesome camera ensures you won't even be able to see where you need to go a lot of the time. It's a shame the gameplay is so frustrating in Epic Mickey because the story and visuals do give you a solid incentive to play. But it's just not worth the effort. Every gameplay scenario is fraught with problems, and there are very few good moments to look forward to after enduring all the lousy parts. Epic Mickey shows that even a good implementation of a cherished license can't overcome an abundance of fundamental design flaws."

edit: if it gets 9.5 i'll buy it day one
Thanks for the thread Thunder, after 2 devastating news in the gaming world, it's good to see something worth to be really hyped.
The Puzzles are what intrigue me. Possibly the reason I like the Wii so much is the abundance of good puzzle games on the system.
I can't see it getting below an 8.
which 2 thing are they? Thanks for the thread Thunder, after 2 devastating news in the gaming world, it's good to see something worth to be really hyped.

Probably about AA. I'm really looking forward to it.
Also, I think you meant to put Joystiq, not Joystick under the reviews category (unless you're referring to some other site, in which case disregard what I just said lol).
Nice content in the thread. Good job!

Because they know everybody has a DVD player somewere around the house if you don't have one you can always use your computer.Wait... why does the CE come with a behind-the-scenes DVD if the Wii can't play DVDs?

if you actually care about video quality and be able to play multi region, pal and ntsc..then an xbox ps3 is useless..
of course if you are a simple person and dont care then yes it bad that wii dont have d v d.
