Star wars the old republic is sold out on UK Amazon and beating BF3 in sales. Looking on US Amazon even the overpriced collectors edition is beating BF3 in sales.

Really? I never knew more people played MMO's then shooters on PC. Thanks for sharing, its not like 10+ million active WoW accounts mean anything.

Also, Guild Wars 2 will be better. From what Ive seen SWTOR doesn't impress me one bit.

In all MMOs people wonder how to kill the epic raid. In L2, we wondered how to kill the other 5 clans that had about 70-120 people each, that also wanted to kill said raid, so that we could kill the raid. But what would we do if they returned and killed us while we were too busy killing the raid? People used to deny war declarations and not PvP so the could PvE easier. We called these kinds of people CAREBEARS. Most MMOs currently are carebear oriented. People dont like the idea that another clan might come around, wipe the floor with them, and take the PvE spot/raid they had, but were too bad to protect. And when an MMO comes that doesn't have the 'carebear', pampering attitude towards the players, it's a 'Korean niche grind fest'. .......Gaming community, I am dissapoint.

 I'm not worried. Warhammer online did the same thing. Look how it ended up.

I think MMO'ers are hungry for a new mmo, or it's just a bunch of Star Wars fans... If the former, they'll just quit when it is realized wow still exists and is better at everything and doesn't have the worst art style in the known universe.

The only MMO's that are looking fresh and nifty, that I know of, are GW2 and Tera(however tera has some issues apparently in korea, and has some clothing issues, bad design decision and I'm not too sure of it's combat.)

It really doesn't look that good, the graphics in wow aren't that spectacular but this is even worse. And the animations, dear god!

Its sort of expected given that Bioware put it out and the game is set in the Star Wars universe.

And those Star Wars fans, will most likely not stick for too long either, just like what happened with SWG. Of course, mmos are way more mainstream now.

Oh and there is one other mmo that also looks relatively fresh and nifty, it is ArcheAge.

archage looks horrible apart from the gfx, which will make the population empty due to the lack of accesiblity.

Well, that is your opinion, I would like to discuss it further but I will stop here. Perhaps in an ArcheAge thread I will discuss why the game is looking brilliant. Anyway, back on topic. I cant say I am surprised SWTOR is doing so well commercially. It is a mainstream mmo, taking Bioware fans, Themepark mmo fans and Star Wars fans and invites them all. Those are 3 big groups out there.

Will it deserve its success? Who knows, but one thing is certain, we will find out on release.
