a Nintendo vs. Square fighting game.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Castlevania SotN in 3D... with all the same (or even more) RPG elements from the original, a similiar equipment tuning system seen in Diablo, and a HUGE world to explore.
or
Film Noir -style FPS RPG (read Stalker) in city that's at least the size we've seen in GTAs.
A 2D Mario platformer where you play as a member of the Koopa Troop, trying to stop Mario from rescuing the Princess.
A Pokemon MMO done right. I cannot believe that Nintendo has never done this. They would make so much money and there might finally be something to rival World of Warcraft.
Omnisystem
would flop, Nintendo know nothing about PC gaming, will be another Final Fantasy 14.0
Well...
Let's say a God game where you had complete control over everything and could do everything :D
But from the less ambitious concepts, I'd say I'd like to see a fantasy action adventure game that would blend story-driven single-player gameplay with online play and would have a ton of possiblites, interactivity and so on and a war game that would resemble the Operation Flashpoint and ArmA series, but would have a massive, realistic, living, destructible world, a strong, story driven single-player campaign with optional co-op play and massive, real-time online gameplay where all nations would battle it out for land and resources.
I'm also open for unique new concepts.
A true Lovecraftian survival horror/mystery detailing the life of Abdul Al Hazred (The Mad Arab) and the horrors he was ultimately consumed by. He is of course the character who penned the infamous and dreaded Necronomicon in the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The story can follow an investigative route, similar to that of Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth and will tell the story of The Mad Arab's life and experiences as you progress in your investigations and discoveries. All while facing and reliving the same terrors that Abdul Al Hazred himself faced.
A plot could be woven in that had you playing as an archaeologist/investigator type who makes a great discovery while excavating in the Middle East... pages from the Book of the Dead itself. This of course leads to unimaginable horrors being unleashed, as well as your quest to find the remainder of the book. Which you not only are driven to discover out of your lust for power, but also because you need the rest of the book to be able to dispel the horrors that have been unleashed... should you choose to even do so.
There should be choices, where you can choose the route of selfishness that is driven by your wanting to keep the book as you discover more of it, or making sacrifices and taking a harder route to discover the rest of the pages in efforts to stop what has been unleashed. In the case of the former, you would inevitably be driven mad until you are claimed by the unspeakable and incomprehensible horror, progressively becoming part of it yourself as your selfish acts lead to the demise and destruction of those around you who are there to help.
Either way you go, it should be a game filled with:
- Investigation, puzzle solving, exploration.
- Multiple routes and ways to complete objectives based around moral choices and/or which path seems to lead to the best outcome. Usually, the choices turn out to not be so clear-cut as they may appear. In other words, some 'good' choices may end up leading to undesired consequences and vice versa.
- True survival horror elements with limited resources
- A constant feeling of dread, oozing a dark and other worldly atmosphere of the unknown that seems to be beyond the realm of comprehension.
- Losing your sanity from crossing the boundry of madness due to confrontations with unimaginable horrors.
I had an idea, but then I forgot it after reading Ironcreed's amazing idea :(
As for the pokemon MMOs people seem to wish for all the time, you do realize there are plenty of Pokemon MMOs out there right now? Though none of them are made by Nintendo which is probably what you wanted anyway.
Star Wars Battlefront 3. On the Wii. Online.wiifan001Can we agree to also release that on the PS3? Since Move = Wiimote rite?
Total War style game where you can play as 1 soldier in the real time battles. you gain ranks as you go along until you make it to general.
I would give anything for a game that allows you to just smash lines upon lines of enemies
I know people are tired of zombies... but I'm hoping for an open world zombie game( with online). Not like that joke of DR or any crappy Zombie games out there.lbjkurono23Someone needs to make a new Resi Outbreak only now it would be only consoles where people actually play the online so it would have a big community and could be amazing if they did it right.

You've missed out of the Yakuza game series then.I think a Yakuza game could be cool.

Man, Outbreak was special in my heart and I'll be disappointed if Capcom doesn't even try to explore the idea of having another one.Someone needs to make a new Resi Outbreak only now it would be only consoles where people actually play the online so it would have a big community and could be amazing if they did it right.bobbetybob

Few minutes in to the game and I knew I was going to like it :P
I would like a multiplayer game with DMC/Bayonetta/Ninja Gaiden combat. No more camping around from the edges of the map shooting people. EVeryone would actually have to move around and think strategically. Kind of like Black Phantoms in Demon's Souls except a little more fast paced and more people fighting such as 4 vs 4

I didn't know there were any!
I'll have to look this up, I feel silly now lol.
A RTS (TW does this well) that has a huge varity of factions, no guns, massive battles,
So likely a total war game

I just want a remake/improved version of the first 1, one that people can mod the hell out of.
I'm not going to touch on any original ideas I might have... instead I'll make my input on one of many established video game concepts that I would like to see being handled differently in the future as the technology evolves.
One of them could be something along the lines of the Deus Ex series.
So far I'm not liking the QTE's much and the possible use of cinematics, because I think a game like Deus Ex should always have the player in control. That said, and unlike the first Deus Ex, I would still like to see this concept extend to even the dialogue trees.
Did you have control in Deus Ex during the dialogue trees? Yes. Full control? No. The same could be said out of something like Vampire the Masquerade, or any RPG for that matter. I think that once developers can overcome the problem present in lack of buttons in a controller, that this type of communication(dialogue trees) should still be exercized while the player maintains first, or third person control.
What I mean is that instead of giving you a different panorama or cinematic angle when actually talking to an NPC through dialogue trees, have us talk to them while always maintaining full control.
It may not sound like much, but this might actually give the player a huge level of freedom, so much so to a point where it can become a designer nightmare; however, I still think that developers can reasonably do this with current hardware, by utilizing some limitations in the concept.
This type of system wouldn't work so well in a game like Mass Effect, where you can't kill or fully interact with a lot of the NPC's in game, unless you were willing to work with limitations, but it could work on something like Deus Ex.
Not only that, but maintaining the first person view all the time and full control gives the conversation a level of interaction and immersion much more powerful than a game like the first Deus Ex did, especially when you consider what you can do in a video game today--character expressions are becoming more and more refined. So instead of focusing on giving us a cinematic angle, developers could give more focus on the player actually reading the NPC expressions and make their dialogue/action actions accordingly.
Pretty much a Half-life with dialogue trees, where you can interact more with the characters during these situations, where you don't bump into a dialogue tree that robs you of the control you had throughout most of the game and where you can interact more with these characters, other than just looking around while they're talking to you.
Imagine you were having a discussion with an NPC through this system. The NPC starts to threaten you and you the player can read in the NPC expression that anything else you might use on the dialogue tree is useless. Instead of having a dialogue option to shoot him or point a gun(like you see in Mass Effect), give the player the freedom to do so right on the spot, while maitaining a constant dialogue system. Maybe the best option was to shoot down that NPC on the spot, or maybe pointing a gun at him while using other Dialogue tree options at that point might bring the NPC to reason--having all of this done without taking control from the player.
Edited: Perhaps a better and more simple example would be you the player walking right beside an NPC, while having the control to choose through a dialogue tree system while actually doing this movement(walking).
a multiplayer game with the same mechanics as "The Ship" where you have to eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, etc...and you can't be seen with a weapon, or be videotaped killing anyone etc.. It would have a gritty realistic style unlike the cartoon graphics of The Ship, and it would be set in the inner-city neighborhoods of a mid-west city that games are almost never set in (Cleveland or Detroit maybe)
