Seriously... Nintendo, f*cking get your head out of your ass and make a Pokemon HD. A real Pokemon HD, a true blue, full fledged mainline Pokemon game. Make it share the same universe as the upcoming X and Y. Maybe make it a sequel to X and Y, but Wii U only. Release it next year if you have to, to give X and Y breathing space.
- Fully online compatible, with full Miiverse support I would certainly hope this would be the case, especially with shards (players can swap shards at will so they wont have to choose between friends), add daily and monthly tournaments too.
- Full 3D, HD graphics, a full fledged open world Keep it sprite based please.
- All 700+ Pokemon Yeah, as long as all would not be findable on the same region.
- Wii U pad support, with Off TV Play supported, to keep the 'portable' nature of the games intact Makes sense
- Random online battling, online tournaments, online trading, and online co-op Sure, for tournaments, add monthly, weekly, daily tournaments and player hosted tournaments (playerhosted having custom rules such as banning certain items, pokemon and maybe even moves), furthermore, a shard system could be used as well with players being able to switch shards at will (so they can still play with friends), players in the same shard can see eachother where they can battle, trade, chat and tag along.
- Persistent game world, with an aftergame supported by periodic DLC quests. Maybe sell Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova as DLC areas. I would rather have them in at day 1, but I suppose that would be physically very difficult.
- NFC compatible. Buy toys to unlock special Pokemon in game. Ban them from ranked tournaments to make sure the game stays balanced. Another Skylanders? No thanks.
- Since Game Freak a) takes a lot of time with game development, and b) is completely unfamiliar with console game development, outsource it. Give it to Level 5. As games like Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy, Dark Cloud, and Ni No Kuni demonstrate, they are more than up to the task. Level 5 are great devs and I am sure they could do the pokemon series justice, JUST whatever they do, do NOT make it real time. Ni No Kuni's battle system was a complete and utter mess and I would like Pokemon to stay as far away from that as possible.
DO IT NINTENDO. More than any other game, Mario, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Zelda, anything, this is what will give you sustained sales for your home console. There is still time to save it, if you do it, so... do it already.

Also, player created pokemon trainers, rebalanced pokemon (to make more of them viable, some can be crap though, that is just how nature works). Streamline the EVs and IVs.
A pokemon game in the same vein as the handhelds could work.
They could get Game Freak on board. Concessions, maybe support for some non Pokemon games, let them have first dibs on the 4DS dev kits, maybe even let some game Freak guys be on the hardware design panel, whatever. Game Freak is tiny. It could be appeased. charizard1605
I still don't see it happening. GameFreak is pretty slow to update to new technology - they released BW2 on DS well after the release of the 3DS - and the Pokemon series is pretty much they're baby. And XD and Colosseum didn't do so hot so I can't see Nintendo persuading them or even wanting to let someone else use the IP on Wii U, as much as people want it to happen.
[QUOTE="Maroxad"]Also, player created pokemon trainers, rebalanced pokemon (to make more of them viable, some can be crap though, that is just how nature works). Streamline the EVs and IVs.murat8I wouldn't say no to them streamlining the ev and iv system.
By streamlining I just mean a system that would make more sense. Namely EVs would be determined by how you raise your pokemon (encouragement and use of moves among other things) as opposed to what pokemon you beat up.
IVs on the other hand, would be difficult to streamline without taking away from the breeding element (not to mention, the IV system could amplify the online economy). But I do realize that the world of pokemon is technologically advanced and some genetic engineering could probably be done, to give a minor IV boost to the offspring for a hefty fee ofc.
Why would people buy the 3DS if they know they can just get Pokemon on the Wii U? Pokemon is the whole reason people own a handheld. That's why. Nintendo still needs to support their handheld demographic. Nintendo has Zelda, Mario, etc... which will all sell the Wii U. The Wii U just doesn't have any games at the moment.Â
I don't think any one  understands what doom is ,  Â
lets look at sony, Â Â how many years was ps3 bleeding money out of sony ? are they gone?Â
lets look at nintendos lowest selling platform the nintendo gamecube -which ironically was more powerful then ps2 and more utilized then xbox cause xbox got cut off  to soon,  ---it sold only 24 million and was just as profitable for nintendo as ps2 was for sony and that sold 150 m plus units that already should tell you that your doom is just  a dream that everyone has had since the snes and that dream is nothing more then that,  it will never flourish because nintendos not stupid enough to sell products at such high cost out of their pocket that if it shall fail it would cost themÂ
lets look at sega for a minute --Â
how many mistakes did they have before being forced into submission  they had 4 (sega cd sega 32x  sega saturn and sega dreamcast also note the rare 32x cd combo ,)     all of these products put so much money out of sega ,  they had to quit ,    nintendo is far from that predicimate because they have 2 t hings working in their favorÂ
1- 3ds selling great
2 wiiu makes profit off of one nintendo game sold ,  so it doesnt matter how many wiius sold it matters if it was losing money but its not its actually going to break even with one nintendo game sold and thats a gurantee  who do you know buys a nintendo system for 3rd party titles i want to see a show of hands , ,
Â
and a show of hands also for those who actually cared when gamecube had superioer hardware - i bet you wont because i already know the answer - that answer is , your just fanboys , it doesnt matter what nintendo does , Â Â wrong or right, you dont buy their products so do me a favor stop posting needless threads nintendo wiiu dont need saving that saving is coming in the form of gamesÂ

If the Wii U fails and they bomb that is a large chunck of money they will have, and don't forget trhe buy backs. Then all they will have is 3DS, which is only really very profitable in Japan. They will need the other region money to cover the Wii U. They would not be able to restart and launch another home console, which if they did, would have to have better specs than the Wii U, as that will bum rush what they have left on the side.

Seems to me like you would love to play Ni no kuni on the console ( not the DS one )Â
It is what you would want in a pokemon game for console..... the only problem is that it has to be a spin off... because for example in ni no kuni you enter a dungeon and expect a boss fight.. something big and funky.. and you do get it... however in pokemon.... you might just get a trainer.... not really that dramatic or climatic.... or the end game.... .a trainer ? that's kinda lame..... they would have to come up with a way to mix pokemons and monsters for boss fights..... not some enhanced dark charizard. or some random deformed robot.,.. that's just lame.
Makes too much sense, they wont wont do it :P
That would be the game to make me want a Wii U.
I'd say instead of DLC for the other regions, just put every region in the game to begin with. Maybe you'll get to choose which one to start out in, and eventually make your way through all of them (one can dream).Â
Already played Ni No Kuni, I like it a lot :) But it's no Pokemon :PÂ

Not mainline games, though I wonder if a Pekemon Stadium U or Pokemon Snap U could garner some nice attanetion to the Wii U.

It's not but it's the closest thing... it also shows that a Full 3D pokemon game can be made... but as i said.. only way is that if they leave the old formula about the 8 badgest behind.... I wish they left that as optional.. while focusing on some other story on the side as the main story. This would not only give them an excuse to make the gym battles a lot harder with no items ( they are gym leaders.. it should be a challenge not a cake walk ) but also make the elite four even better and the champion as the ultimate challenge in the game.Â
But seriously, expect a Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire remake late 2014 or early 2015.Drasonak
I'm typically not crazy about remakes, but I HOPE that becomes the case eventually. Ruby/Sapphire resparked my interest in the series in a huge way, and I'd love to visit an updated Hoenn.
Although, if the games looks like X&Y, I will have my share of reservations...

Better, have Game Freak make all of the main gameplay and systems design, art direction, and story and then have an outsorced developer deal with the technical stuff like animating, modeling, and programming.

Monolith Soft would be good for that Nintendo owns them or maybe Retro Studios. Though Intelligent Systems was created by Nintendo as a programming company that just programmed games for Nintendo's internal teams mainly R&D1.Please Log In to post.
