Based off of your experience, is online gaming really worth having to run through so many systems?Lionheart08
As odd as it may sound...yes...yes it is. xbox live is that amazing. Like I said before, if Sony can match xbox live, I will switch in a heart beat.

well... depends how important the friends system is to you, i have done fine with psn, played with friends and responded to invites.
i just don't think £50 is worth it, in principle, i can afford it, but it just isn't worth it IMO. (iv seen xbl, my friends all have it and iv used it for entire nights)

Furthermore, this is coming from a guy that would have never even have considered buying a PS3 at the start of the current generation. However, the PS3 is starting to show that it is matching, and in some cases surpasing everything the xbox360 has to offer other than the online service. As soon as the PS3 has a online system that rivals xboxlive, I'll be sold!
[QUOTE="deadmeat59"]psn is fine stedtfeldnothing close to LIVE i have played on both psn and live . I really don't see how live is a lot better. yes it is better but to me not a hole lot . friends lists and or voice chat is all i see .
PSN was actually a big selling point for me over the XBL believe it or not , besides the exclusive games of course.
On the flip side , I didn't see enough exclusive games I wanted to play online for the 360. I also prefer the server lists to matchmaking and some of the ps3 games have that with dedicated servers so that is a plus. Just seems like a no-brainer to me. All I want from PSN at this point is to be able to bring up my friends list (eventhough I don't have any friends yet :() and be able to get in touch with them while in game and I am golden. Accomplishments , Home/trophies , and whatever else gets added to the service will just be a bonus.
Once PSN has unified friends lists, and has in game XMB im canceling my Live subscription.
I pay for live because i have friends who use live too, but more and more of my friends are picking up PS3's and all of them will have one by the time of MSG4's release.
i originally got xbox 360 for halo and star trek legacy, but then my bro played halo for xbox live all day and now i dont like halo 3 anymore too much (halo 1 beats it in every respect except graphics of course). but still, 360 has mass effect and lost odessey, which in my opinion are better than any single player game for ps3 so far (hopefully not for long). but xbox live is the reason i want a ps3 , so i can enjoy games with good stories and single player like i used to with the previous systems, and not have multiplayer fps after multiplayer fps, all of which are exacerbated by my brother overplaying them
I've always tried to remember that at the start XBL was not the product that it is today. Six years of refinement is why XBL runs the way it does(and that's not perfectly btw) PSN WILL catch up at some point but by the time that happens XBL will have additional refinements also so I personally think PSN may never be everything that XBL is.
I think it's a given that PSN will be better in the future with my main beef right now being the haphazard friends lists, no in game XMB and voice chat not being standard in all games.
PSN is definately lacking something that XBL has...I just feel blahhh when i turn it on. It's definately not in XBL's league. Anyone who says otherwise is in straight up denial & hasn't experienced all that it has to offer. Not to mention, i know over 20 people personally who have an X360 as opposed to 3 with PS3. Im sure PSN will get better over time but software & things of that nature are M$ field.
RRoD is the only thing keeping me from buying a 360. Whats taking so long, my lord.
Anyway PSN is ok, I just like it because it is free, but we need in game XMB fast. Also socom.
sux to be you, my 360 runs fine, and strangely I never hear the fan, plus, myself included, buddies and people on my friends list have never experienced any lag, don't know where that comes from, I'm sure there is at times, but I'm sure it happens on psn also
After burning through my 3rd xbox360 system, I've grown to hate MS and have recently become very tempted to switch to the PS3. However, everytime I think about going to the store and getting a PS3, I remember about xbox live and then I pull back. If Sony could ever get an online system to match that of xbox live, I'd switch in a heart beat. Until then, I will be forced to deal the great xbox360 which is very very poorly built. That just goes to show how amazing xbox live it. It is the sole reason as to why I'm staying loyal to MS despit them screwing us over with a poorly built system. I think many xbox360 owners are much like me. They are only staying with the xbox360 because of how amazing xboxlive is.neversummer75Dude, I can totally relate. I got pissed off at Microsoft too and I have completely given up on them but Xbox live sure made it hard. I just wish Sony or Nintendo just friggin' copied Microsoft. I don't even care if it's a blatant ripoff.
