Xbox doesn't have backwards compatibility. I still find it hilarious how people call it that.
What would you call it then because it's natively playing games from prior console generations without touching or porting game code?
Well, I'm not exactly sure what I would call it, but it sure as hell isn't backwards compatibility. A PS2 is backwards compatible with PS1. A PS3 fat is backwards compatible with a PS2 and PS1. PC's (for the most part) are backward compatible. Downloading a game onto your hard drive from a selected list of games, having a disc check, and mandatory online install, is not backwards compatible. They may have pulled some strings in order for it to be possible, but it's an emulation and the disc serves as nothing more than a license. yes, essentially they come to the same means (playing an older gen game on a current console), but no, they are not the same thing... far from it in fact. They should have different names... they are not the same thing. You don't call a dog and cat the same thing even though both are animals.. hell, you don't even call a horse and a pony the same thing.... but why? Simple, they aren't the same thing. All I'm saying is that it needs to be properly named, because it sure as hell isn't BC. I can't go out tomorrow and start up a new online business and call it Ebay. MS calls it BC as a selling point and as something that people will understand, while in actuality that is far from the truth. I guarantee you that more than one person has bought an Xbox with this "BC" in mind, and then found out the hard way that just simply isn't the case. Hilarious how so many people despise and fight against drm, but then side with MS's lies about BC...lol.
