A simple mistake in reading? Did you think of that? I don't know how the two words "Japanese games" would be mistaken for JRPGs by someone unless he/she is ignorant of Japanese games and only knows FF games.[QUOTE="lordlors"] Why do people seem to equate Japanese games to JRPGs when clearly Japanese developers also make many games that aren't RPGs?Stevo_the_gamer
Wow how oxymoronic. A guy residing in the US making a game from Japan? Makes Perfect sense. I also hate the whole "You can play PC games on your couch" argument. I've connected my PC to my TV before. It doesn't look as good as having a PC monitor, so why spend $800+ for the best graphics and then use an inferior screen? It's not a weakness if you dont want it. I hate Japanese games because of the gameplay, plot (s) and awful artistic design. If a Western dev made a Japanese game, it would suck too.

[QUOTE="dantesergei"]nothing is perfect; the PC has it flaws and one of them is the lack of incredible games. lundy86_4
It lacks incredible games, or it lacks incredible console games? It has incredible games, as seen on many review sites.
Why would i have to specify ? a great game is a great game.[QUOTE="dantesergei"] Why would i have to specify ? a great game is a great game. lundy86_4
What you said implies that it lacks incredible games. Which would have kinda low odds considering the sheer amount of games.
Sorry about that, SOME incredible games. You also can't find anything on the PC that's like ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, Metroid Primelordlors
You can barely find anything like those games on consoles. I agree with your general point though.
I doubt it's going to change much in the future, because there just aren't enough gaming-capable PCs in the Japanese market. In fact I hear that a lot of Japanese people don't even own PCs anymore because they only use the Internet on their cell phones...
You do know PC has splitscreen correct? Did you seriously just say Pc does not have better graphics than a ps3? Huh?So costing higher and no split-screen games and not really being better graphically than a PS3 aren't weaknesses?! LOL

i agree with you tc, i was playing some dirt 3 on my pc today thinking of playing some demons souls tonight and i thought to myself....i would love to play demons souls on my pc, not for advantages or modding or anything like that, just because id like the convenience of being able to play a game like that or catherine or ico on my pc

How are PC graphics "not really" better?
He forgot a not. He meant to say they're not not really better. With a gaming PC's raw compute power, it's possible to run two or more game instances and assign KBM inputs to each game instance. This is the basic idea to build a cloud based gaming PC server. TeamPlayer PC software enables multiple KB+Mouse inputs. You do know that the PS3 is running off of 5 year old PC parts....?

I don't know why you insult Japanese culture. Do you have some traumatic experience with something related to Japan? Wa? No, not at all. I just don't like the fact that every Japanese game I have seen has lil boys pwning 1337 military guys. Also the fact that random people just shout random things and move their hands to pwn leet military. I mean it just makes no sense, and they are all the same.[QUOTE="lordlors"][QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]I take this as a strength. PC is for manly games.JigglyWiggly_
I have not seen any Asian fps that are good, and that aren't complete rip offs of like CS, sudden attack comes to mind.
Oh and don't think I hate Japanese people yet. I do like some stuff obviously. Characters like Sparkster from Rocket Knight are awesome. Sonic after refinements from 1337 Americans is an awesome character. I mean the original Japanese Sonic had fangs which is just rong.
I also think Animu is for sissies, but that's just me. I am a true warrior though, I can't expect everyone to be a true warrior, because then I wouldn't be a true warrior then.
Did you mean to say Anime, instead of Animu? Your knowledge of Japanese games seems to be incredibly lacking from the descriptions you are providing. Asian FPS? Perhaps they don't dabble much in that genre. I'm sorry I'm still laughing from your post  Your a true warrior? Oh please, a true warrior. Even one of your earlier posts had you describing yourself as manly. This is hilarious, still holding onto antiquated defintions of "manliness" and trying to hold onto their dying meaning?
Back to topic: In this thread, it seems that the PC gamers won't actually acknowledge the fact that the PC doesn't necessarily get many japanese made games. They either try to brush it off by saying "oh they aren't good" or "oh good we didn't want them anyways". I mean, can it really be possible for the PC to have an error? Apparently to some around here, that answer is no. Sure Japanese PC games exist, but they aren't easily accessible unless they are localized.
Ever heard of RPGmaker bro? Tons of JRPGs there. We have tons of bullet hell games also. Fighters are here too. Can't think of any other popular japanese genres but I'm sure that if you name them I can find examples of it on the PC.
Contrary to popular belief, there is only one true weakness of the PC platform and that is Japanese made games. Although there are actually many Japanese games on the PC, they never make it outside of Japan. You also can't find anything on the PC that's like ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, Metroid Prime, Super Mario Galaxy (there are great 2d platformers on the PC but not much 3d ones), Legend of Zelda, etc.
What's even more aggravating is that most Westerners who are PC gamers don't care about Japanese made games. They aren't even remotely interested. I have observed this from PC gamers who post on GS. It's funny because just a few days ago there was a thread about Japanese who supposedly discriminate against Western made games. Well there are actually Westerners who distaste anything Japanese too.
You can truly sense a difference in both style and feel between Western and Japanese made games because of different cultures. Yes there have been Japanese made games that feel like a Western game and vice versa but they are few.
If only PC gets more Japanese games, it would become the best main gaming platform to have.

You easily can , if you get me. But i dont recommend it

you must have connected it to a horrible Tv then. I have my PC connected with HDMI to my Tv (both in sig) and it looks fantastic

They just feel cheesy for the most part and for some reason its japanese games that have the stupidest dialogs. I'm not discriminating anything... i just don't care about japan made games. They feel like not evolving at all. FF13 for example, i enjoyed it but so many damn times i muted my tv because dialogs were a serious wtf, and that happens to a lot of JRPG's (by a lot i mean tones, like 7 out of 10). Not a fan of cut-scenes with some kid going super saiyan and crushing a dragon 100 times bigger than he is, neither. It may have looked half cool to me when i was 12 but now its just stupid... even for a video game.

You piss me off with that insulting stereotypical view. Many people have given examples of stuff related to this subject so you would broaden your horizon but you're passing that and keeping up with this bull?
My thoughts exactly, silversix doesn't seem to understand that not everything in Japan is the exact same either; perhaps (s)he should Google it?
The PC is getting more Japanese games now than in the past, though. Just about every Capcom game is on the PC, and Square Enix is starting to come around, as well. I think it's only a matter of time before the PC gets even more Japanese games, although they are very difficult to play without a controller for the most part.PurpleMan5000
Highly unlikely. It seems to me that Japanese developers see PC gaming as a goddamn plague. How else can you explain the PC's lack of Catherine, Demon's Souls, Vanquish, and all those other games? The Last Remnant is enough proof that Japanese games CAN work on the PC.
