The only way to stop piracy is to put NO piracy protection on your games. Now i might sound very crazy but hear me out, there is this company that makes turnedbase rts games for pc, i think they're called stardock? well they never have any piracy protection and yet they have a few million sellers. A million sales might not sound like alot but its enough for a profit. keep in mind that they're games get ZERO advertising and they still manage to get a few million sellers. So can we stop these stupidly insane piracy protection methods? im looking at you EA with your stupid mass effect on pc and take two with their stupid online registration just to play biosock. Most of these piracy protection methods just seem to hurt the people that buy the games not the pirates.

The only way to stop piracy is to make projects open source. What would be the point of crackign something if it's already open source?

Or, make them free like Battlefield: Heroes, Runescape, Quake Live, etc.

Companies would make their money through ads and paid items in the game
