[QUOTE="coolviper2003"]Doesn't everyone have counter strike sourceby now? sadikovic
No not the console nubs.
TC CS flopped on the XBOX 1... the game is too fast paced for the sluggish controller.
UT3 will flop on consoles.
Yes
And
Yes...well the Ps3 version will support Mouse / Keyboard...soo Im DEF getting that version (my comp cant handle most new games that well =[ )
And as St_muscat said...64 people in one server on 360? Would that be still cs? or just a mass of polygons randomly appearing on screen?
Look at what IGN had to say about teamwork on xbox live :
"While PC gamers are often good at playing nicely together, that's not always the case with console owners. So this teamwork requirement could turn games ugly on Xbox Live. That's not Valve's fault in any way; it's just the nature of console gaming."

I've said something very similar in response to lemmings saying that nobody ever voice chats in pickup games on the PC (which isn't true, anyway). Good to see IGN feels the same way. :P It was pretty amazing how even in the TF2 beta, everyone would work together. I've rarely stumbled into a TF2 game where I felt I had to do everything myself, or that my team was just going solo and doing their own thing. There's always been a strong dosage of teamwork imbued into every match, even random pickup games with random people. Halo 3, on the other hand...

ugh Halo 3 is like CS.
You can't tell some asses to co operate because you'll cramp their st yle or some crap like that.
Ah well, play with friends and it makes a whole lot of difference.

True, Halo 3 can be quite fun playing with friends. But Team Slayer with random people can be a pretty painful experience, voice chat or no. :P
I dunno, though, this wasn't an issue in Rainbow Six: Vegas. Did you ever play that game on XBL? I actually found that most Vegas players on 360 worked together quite well, though they were on average older than Halo players and the like.

Although I argue with people about the casualisation of PC games and how it's really insulting to call it that, I don't like Rainbow Six since it went to consoles lol.
But yeah, games like Halo and CS attract a lot more younger people than most other games do. Don't like it much but what can you do lol.
I don't need any more games I already have in itimprezawrx500
But you already got HL2 and Episode One.

Vegas was surprisingly good on 360. It didn't have nearly the tactics of previous R6's, but it had more action and it was quite fun. I thought it was a good balance of tactics and straight up action. A very fun game both online and off, and probably the best console shooter that I've played. I've certainly played it far more than any other.

I liked GRAW. I thought that was done really well. So I'm not all against consolization.
But yeah... kinda did like RS3 for Xbox as it had the voice comm stuff, but I had just as much fun, perhaps even more so, with Raven Shield.
Interesting Zeliard, your hermitness could conflict with other hermits. I know there's a particular person on these boards who would think you were making sacriligous comments lol.

I know that Vegas ended up poorly on the PC because of a mix of consolization and bad porting, but I'm just saying it was really fun as a console shooter, PC notwithstanding. I never tried any of the previous R6s on console. The GRAWs on 360 were done well, too.
I think what made those games work for me as console shooters is because the control for them was incredibly smooth and streamlined, especially in Vegas. Analog control, amazingly enough, actually felt really good with it. But that's probably because it's a generally slower game than something like Halo.
Besides, I bought a 360, and it's not because I hate the thing. :P
GRAW on 360 damn good. Sure it was hardly that tactical, but it was fun. GRAW on PC was a much more tactical fair, but hey it was pretty good too.
Ahhh R6 vegas. Ehhhh. Why didnt they keep it console exclsuive and make a Raven Shield sequal *shakes head*. Now that game had the most hadcore multiplayer (and singleplayer).
As for people being less co-operative in teambased games in Halo 3 - compared to CS - this is understandable.
Look at CS, its game is primarialy team based, and it has been so for 7 years. Halo on the other hand is an array of modes, most of which are variations of slayer. With CS comes a tactical mentality, thus the team is forced into worksing together, however in Halo due to the range of gametypes tactical team play play is never forced.
ACtually it would be interesting to see how console gamers have taken to TF2...
TF2 is so goddamn fun. On PC anyway. I can't imagine playing it with a controller. *cringes*poovineIt plays just fine with a controller because I've played it and beaten (almost) ever nub HW with my scout. Regardless, It's not a game about twitch aiming but about using cooperation and team abilities that have strengths and weakness.

I don't. Granted I'm not the biggest PC gamer out there.
I picked up The Orange Box last weekend and overall im pretty damn pleased with the package i got.
But when i went to the multiplayer section of the game, Team Fortress 2, it really surprised me that i would be playing an animated ****based multiplayer game. I mean why did Valve not put Counter Strick in this pack? It makes no sense. A shooter that compares with the likes of Halo and COD, yet im playing an animated multiplayer. Im sure there are people out there that enjoy this ****of game, but if Counter Strike was on this disk it probably would have been the best gaming package ever released. I feel a little cheated...but more so it is just disappointing.KrAcKK
are you kidding you feel cheated????? how in the hell can you feel cheated???? there is 5 games on that disk for 60 bucks man how much more do you want? i personally think its the best deal out there they could have easily put them out as seprate products and charged way more. i dont understand how you feel cheated just because there is no counter-strike in there. so play the 5 games on the disk and stop complaining man.
