people keep saying, how EA is destroying gaming, how shooters are corrupting the industry, or how game comapnies are milking us. but the FACT is that it is US that is destroying gaming, as long as we keep buying EA products, keep purchasing DLCs at high prices, or keep buying shooters. all these BS wont stop.

so please, quit pointing fingers and look in the mirror.

i have nothing to be sorry for, it matters little to me the path where the industry is going, we could have a video game crash for all i care, there are enough games already to keep me entertained for more then a life time, besides i like every genre except sports and racing, so i´m set

You assume that all shooters are bad, and that all EA games are bad. I agree anyone who pays for DLC is unwise, but the fact is there are still good shooters being made and that EA once in a while makes a good game. What will save the industry, if we all buy sports games and party games ? I say all the people who keep buying Madden and other EA sports games each year without renting firs tare doing more to destroy gaming than those who buy the new Doom/Half-Life/Stalker/FEAR.

Paid DLC is the biggest con atm. It mean devs don't have to actually develop complete expansion packs, they can just string consumers along with morsels of content that should have been in the original game.

But TC, poeple will never stop buying crappy Movie licence games and Madden. The industry is what poeple want it to be. If all the innovative niche games became mainstream then we'd see a huge glut of them put out by EA, then they'd be the titles destroying the industry.

Just look to the fringes of the industry instead of waiting for anything good to become mainstream, enjoy the gems or just stop gaming until things change.

there are 2 kinds of people who are destorying gaming:

1. The people who buy bad games. It teaches developers that they don't need to release quality products to make their money

2. People who support all this microtransaction crap

the people who are destroying gaming are the people that play on consoles. if developers didnt have to make inferior versons of games to put on consoles then all games would be good like BF2 cus they'd have no restrictions.PSBox3SixWi

Its really simple. Look at all of the companies that have openly complained about piracy. You have LIonhead who hasn't made a viable title in over two years. Their last major PC title was an extremely average rehash of their previous title and failed many people's expectations. Then you have epic who also released a rehashed version of UT2004 with better graphics. You have Gas Powered games who released an extremely niche title. You also have Crytek who released a title that could have easily sold well, had they not billed it as this state of the art game when in all actuality it can run on any fairly modern gaming rig at great settings. All of these companies have one major thing in common; they failed to capture the attention of the PC audience. It has nothing to do wit hthe PC gamers innate urge to pirate games or their own selfishness. Just look at Sins of a Solar Empire. It is the currently best selling game on the PC, selling over 1 million in its first month and currently outselling wow. The game has absolutely no DRM and it isn't even suffering from a lot of piracy. The people that do pirate do so out of contempt for the industry and their stuborness to change. If you make great games, people will buy them. You don't need to put out tired rehashes, poorly marketed software, and games plagued with spyware to sell a game.Vandalvideo

I think the #1 reason why people pirate PC games,, or any game or that reason is $$$. Easily pirating a game for $0 or pay $50 for the game.
