...doesn't exist. But that doesn't mean a game isn't deserving of the highest score of all. What makes a game good enough to be deserving of the most honorable score? I think it has to nearly be flawless in every way. And on top of "technically" being good the game with a 10 rating should also contain that special something. It should almost blow you away. Your mouth should fall open often.
So what games do you reward with the perfect 10 score? The 10 should not be a score that is given to games like candy. It's a precious score that only the most elite titles in video gaming history are worthy of.I have been gaming regularly since I was 3 years old. I'm 18 now and gaming is still my number one hobby. And these are the only games that I have personally played worthy of the perfect score:
Super Mario All-Stars [SNES] - The first three Super Mario games on the NES are all incredible in their own way. One could argue that each of those titles could be the best 2D plat-former ever created. Take that and add on Super Mario World and The Lost Levels and you got one amazing compilation of plat-formers with pretty SNES 2D graphics. These plat-formers set the standards for the genre.
Resident Evil 4 [Gamecube] - When I first played through Resident Evil 4 for the first time I can't count how many times I said "Wow!" I'm usually not the kind of person to allow a game to get me that excited. But RE4 had my jaw on the floor. It was the best looking game I had ever seen at the time. It was also the most action packed as well as one of the freakiest. The incredible button mashing sequences and wild, unpredictable cut-scenes were like nothing I had ever played before. I was completely blown away. I have played through it about 8 times at least. While I do anticipate Resident Evil 5 for the 360, I don't think anything will ever live up to my first experience with this game.
Super Mario Galaxy [Wii] - Out of the games I have given a 10, Super Mario Galaxy probably isn't THE most fun of the three. However the game is still an absolute blast to play, and would be even more so with the difficulty tuned a bit. The game's camera can be mildly annoying sometimes, but other than that I see no reason for bringing the game's score down. Nintendo pretty much created the platforming genre and have made many masterpieces in that genre. Many of which have been of the Super Mario series. A series that has almost always topped the last entry with each new game. Super Mario Galaxy tops all of the Mario plat-formers. The music is outstanding. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous. It is by FAR the best looking and best playing game on the Wii. Buying a Wii just to play and own this game makes a lot of sense.
Please read what I had to say and share your own opinion as well, thanks.
