Only I found it unattractive and out of place? I can't help not fancing the artstyle and I'm hoping they'll add some textures or soften that look up to make it look less toy-ish, I mean even Lego games don't have that shiny plastic look.

What do you think?

I like it. It's a cute zany game. I prefer the sprite art, but I think it fits

The contrast between the intro and the in-game part was stark and left me a bit baffled. I was telling myself "it's cute what's not to like?" but yeah, nope, I don't see it as a great design choice even if it looks beautiful in a weird cutsy way.

I thought it looked weird as well. Like a fanmade remake.

I'm sure it'll be a great remake, but ehhhh can't really digest that design either

There is a ps3 game called 3D dot hero that has a similar art style. You can test it out there

@italygamer:

I think it looks cute! Very true to the game it's remaking! But I was hoping for a full 3d game too...oh well.?

Hopefully, this version will be easier than the original.

this is how Link looked in the original,
The characters look like Funko Pop's but I think it fits well with the game

I loved it. Looks hand crafted and physically tangible.
People saying it looks cheap or fan made have absolutely no clue.

I prefer cell shaded like in Wind Waker, but this look will attract the (very) young audience as well I bet.

Ooooo Links' Awakening is one of my favorites.

Can't wait for this. I'm cool with the look of it.

I don't mind the general artstyle, but the shinyness and depth of field blurring are very weird looking indeed. They should at least tone that crap down, or give you the options to shut off the blurring completely.

The visual style threw me off, I like the direction but the execution is too clean for me. Might still pick it up.

Never got to play this game on my PS3, copies were either hard to find or expensive online. I hope they somehow port it to current hardware (or PC).

As for this Zelda game, I must admit I found the design weird at first but I think it looks fine. I'll definitely need to see more and this was one of my favorite Zelda games so I'm definitely buying.

Same problem as with New Super Mario Bros, it looks sterile, completely soulless. A factory creation than that of earnest artist.

This is a problem Sonic had until it purposefully backtracked with Sonic Mania, all of the sudden the visuals magically sprung to life. When you compare that to Sonic The Hedgehog 4, it's pretty obvious as to what people would rather play.

People are too busy kissing Nintendos rear-end for them to take heed. Truly disgusting.

Yeah I love most Zelda games... but not sure I can get over the look of this one. Petty, I know.

Wasn’t immediately appealing, but I’ve long broadcast my disposition toward the Zelda IP and its overbearing fandom among the greater gaming community.

It may turn out well, but I’m miffed by the decision to literally remake a Zelda game rather than create a new one. But LoZ: LA is a revered game otherwise unapproachable by younger generations, so I acknowledge the calculus.

I'd be okay with it for a new game. But not this game. This doesn't look like Links Awakening to me. That's my favourite zelda game by miles.

It's "whatever" to me. I played Link's Awakening for maybe a total of a couple minutes in the 90's when a friend of mine was trying to sell me on getting a Game Boy, so I don't have any nostalgia for it. With that said, it's a traditional Zelda, so I'll probably get it even if I'm rather ambivalent towards its presentation.

I like it, colorful and clean, i cant see a top down zelda being but so detailed. That being said zelda games always jump in art styles pretty drastically, i remember the meltdown people had over first seeing windwaker. At the end of the day it was a great game so it did not matter. Its some peoples favorite zelda game because of it actually.

It looks like a indie iOS game. Really underwhelming. Just shows it’s another low budget and low effort from lazy Nintendo.

It looks fine to me.

I wonder how the darker dungeons will look - we really need to see more of this game in action.

Rather had a 16 bit aesthetic for this remake but hey.

Since it's Link's Awakening, which is a weird game, the artstyle makes more sense. More I see from it, the more I want to play it, so I obviously don't have much problem with the visuals. But I can't say I'd prefer the game to look like it does.

Looks aside, A Link Between Worlds was pretty awesome, so this game will most probably be fun as well. They look a lot alike.
