The Playstation 3 is a must for everyone!

The Playstation 3 is a great console,But mostly as a media hub.

Today i set up my playstation 3 in my room, thanks to the built in wireless i can access the net from the comfort of my bed, it plays blu-rays and dvds, I can save all my music to it, and through play tv i can save television and watch from a range of channels.

But

The reason it is in my room, is because

It is pretty much a secondary console, and this is due to the lack of decent .games,I own 3 games

Warhawk

Resistance

Singstar.

and have owned MGS4 uncharted and R&C tod .

i keep my 360 on my big downstairs TV, i own 26 games for my 360 , only 4 of those are avalible on the PS3.

So in conclusion while the PS3 is a must have due to its functuallity, at the moment it doesnt touch the 360 in terms of entertainment.

Simply due to the large library of great games.

Anyone else in my situation?

More great value exclusives for my gaming tastes as well. - Resistance 2 , MGS4 , LBP , Warhawk , Socom , Killzone 2 , etc ..... maybe even games like Motorstorm 2 and MAG next year if I want more , there's always more.

I'll use the 360 for the occassion epic sci-fi shooter game or the occasion game that my PC can't run or is not on the ps3.(Alan Wait and SC if they are good or ever release- I wouldn't purchase either game though , just rents). The 360 has a long way to go with its library for my tastes. I can't think of too many must have games other than a few multiplayer shooters. I guess I would just rent Banjo and see what it's all about.

you shouldnt care about the reliability because of the 3 year warrenty

you shouldnt about the noise because most people play the games louder than the noise of the fan

I dont know what interesting multiplayer games you are on about, but obviously you have not discovered halo.

And you contradict yourself because you have a list of games and for everyone of thoese games there is a better 360 couterpart, apart from mgs4 , so i cant see why you are saying the 360 library has a long way to go??

I buy gaming consoles for games, not as movie players or media streamers. The only game I *need* to have on PS3 is the new Team ICO game and that isn't coming out for a while yet. All gaming consoles should be purchased for the games and nothing else... when you start claiming that people "need" them because it is a "great media hub" then you have lost any argument you could have ever imagined yourself having.foxhound_fox

I completely agree with you there, i brought my playstation 3 just for MGS4, but when i realised the only game left to play was the waiting game, i found more uses for it, and i am pleased with the functions.

Sorry is not for everyone..the only sony system i enjoyed and still love is the ps1 but after that no sony console appeals to me,but i will end up getting a ps3 probably in 2 months.MojondeVACA

you shouldnt care about the reliability because of the 3 year warrenty But I do , I don't want to risk not having to go without my systems for a long stretch of time , and I surely don't want to go deal with customer service people.

There are plenty of enjoyable ps3 online games , like Wowhawk , MGO is cooler than most people give it credit for (I like it so that is all that matters) , and Resistance is pretty good ......... plus Socom , Resistance 2 , LittleBigPlanet , and Killzone 2 are coming out soon. While Halo 3 and Gears 2 are good amd I would enjoy them , they are just 2 out of many good ones on consoles. They need more to battle for my time , rawr!

Have both of my consoles sittin next to a 42". I use my PS3 a bit more than the 360 for games. If you add in movies, I use it waay more than the 360. I don't really use it for anything elseCouth_

Ive owned both a PS3 and a 360

I sold my 360 after getting it repaired from RROD for my PS3

Ive never regreted it

PS3 is a very good media hub for all the reasons you said

When Home comes out it will be one of the best ways to socialize :)

i have both consoles and i have more games for my ps3 and i play that one the most. to each its own i guess. me frankly after gears comes out if im not satisfied with it im gonna give my 360 to my cousin. im not down talking the 360 ( if that were the case i wouldn't have bought it ) im just sayin i enjoy my ps3 more

Well i really want a PS3 after i get my LCD TV.

A blu-ray player costs 200$, PS3 has some great games coming out and like you said, its a great system.

I cant wait :P

i have a high end PC i use for media and gaming and a 360 for console gaming, multiplats and general console goodness.

i also have a ps2 for its formidable back catalog.

tell me again, why do i need a ps3?

using the 3 year warranty as an excuse is the weakest thing i have ever heard, what are you going to do 3 years from the day you buy it?

I still play my n64 and ps1 and even sega, 3 years does come eventually

I got a cool program that lets me play content from my Macbook Pro on my PS3 via blutooth. It's cool for watchig movies I have stored on my laptop on my TV.
