All of them are next gen, fanboys just cannot see that. Right now, the 360 does quite a few things better. They have achievements, a seemingly trivial but surprisingly catchy system that can extend replay value, online video marketplace, better online (why the hell can we not read someones message without quitting the game on ps3?), and multiplatform games are actually better looking on them.
I am not denying the ps3 is more powerful... it probably is, but much harder to work for, hence why most multiplatform games are worse. Anyway, they are both next gen, and you need to accept that.

[QUOTE="Ballroompirate"]The PS3 will obviously win this generation because it is the best out there with the most must-have games. Let's not forget all the games on the 360 worth purchasing are on the PC (Gears, Bioshock, soon to be Halo 3).
Pimpshigity21
Let's also not forget that most must-have multiplatform titles are better on the 360.
Let's not forget that most of the AAA games out this generation are on the 360.
Finally, let's absolutely not forget that Sony has released a bunch of flops and not a single AAA title.
Yes, obviouly the PS3 will win this generation. :?
Please don't tell because I have a PS2, BC isn't important, because room is getting tight around here. Because if I did get a PS3, the room where my PS2 is well you get it, don't you. I shall wait around MGS4 time, and lets hope they release with BC version.
Here's the thing, there is exactly 1 PS3 game I have more than a passing interest in, GT5. I couldn't care in the least whether or not I get to play Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, R&C, MGS4, Tekken, Haze, LBP, White Knight Story, Killzone or any game currently announced exclusivly for the PS3 not named Gran Turismo 5. And I can live without GT5. I don't care about Blu-Ray, 1080p, lossless audio, free online, card readers, HDMI, etc. As far as I'm concerned none of the non-gaming features the PS3 offers are worth buying, so you're saying I should spend $400 to play one game because you think the PS3 is a must buy?PBSnipes

Pwn?? LOL
Listen, COW, lets take PD out of the equation, and lets forget the first year blah blah argument or Casey will come in here to pwn you all over the place. Lets look at the AAA list of both consoles according to Metacritic (just to be fair...so we can add the reviews of all the PS magazines into the mix).
360
97 Orange Box, The
96 BioShock
94 Halo 3
94 Gears of War
94 Oblivion
92 Guitar Hero II
90 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
90 Forza Motorsport 2
90 Call of Duty 2
PS3
93 Oblivion (lol, the 360 version received a better score)
WOOOWWWwww...9 to 1.
Then you have 64 games for the 360 in the 80s range vs. the 28 PS3 titles in the same range. Sure, one more years worth of releases, but do you think Jimmy is going to think about this fact when he is ready to buy a console? Nope. He is just going to look at the list of games available for both platforms. Metacritic has a total of 85 game reviews for the PS3 (all scores, including the crappy 79 and bellow)...the 360 has 74 games rated from 80 and above alone (I was too lazy to count the 360s 79 and bellow titles).
Do you think Jimmy is going to think, "but this thing can play 30 dollar movies" when he looks at the PS3 list? Oh, and I wish I could see expression on the faces of Jimmy's parents when he tells them how much the PS3 costs...if by some crazy chance he decides that he wants the Sony console.
No, my COW friend, you guys do not have a single AAA exclusive title. As a matter of fact, most of your exclusives are either flops or average games. RFOM is the highest scoring Sony title...and that game received an average 86 score.
COWS should not use games in their arguments...just don't go there. You guys will just keep pwning urselves if you do.
Wow, fanboys are usually calling the Wii a last-gen console. Now the 360 gets that treatment too? Fanboys these days.
Anyway, funny that you barely mentioned software at all. Tell me, as a person who owns a bad PC, what games on the PS3 will have more value and fun factor than Halo 3, Orange Box (sooner), Bioshock, Mass Effect, Eternal Sonata, Lost Oddysey, and Ninja Gaiden 2? And this is just this year and next. If I go back even further, there's Viva Pinata, Dead Rising, GuitarHero II, Lost Planet, and Gears of War.
PS3 will be great once it gets MGS4. Until then, it does a nice job at sucking up the dust at my place.
must buy my ass.
it turned in to a must sell for me after sticking with it for 9 months.
3picuri3
Wow...9 months of waiting instead of playing games. I hope you had a Wii or a 360 to keep you entertained during the wait. If not, well, at least you are free to have fun from now on.
Did you at least have fun watching Blu-ray movies?
i somewhat agree with tc if you looking overall value the ps3 is the best choice
howeveralot of the people only care about gaming
but i still think the $400 ps3 is great even if i dont have hdtv

i make a point of buying each system each gen so i don't turn in to a flaming fanboy, but for the first time i couldn't justify keeping one of them ---> the PS3. I have no problems with upscaled DVD, and have no plans of replacing my DVD collection anytime soon.
so yeah, no games + me never using it for movies = me selling it to fund the craziest 3 months of gaming i've ever seen ;)
I mean cmon people, is it really that hard to see? You can now own a PS3 for $399 WITH Spiderman 3 Blu-Ray edition, who awesome is that? And don't give me this no BC talk, everyone and their moms own a PS2. Plus upscaling PS2 games isn't all that great and important for some people, if you really care you can get the $499 80Gb version. For $50 extra dollars, you get Blu-Ray, Free online for LIFE, Wi-Fi, Memory Card Slots, touch sensitive buttons, a VERY reliable system, and a million other things in one.
The PS3 truly is the ONLY true "next-gen" system in my opinion, especially with its monster CELL Broadband Engine and Reality Synthesiser GPU chip. Not to forget it also has XDR ram under the hood ensuring maximum horsepower and low latencies. What other console lets you surf the web, install Linux, support playback of HIGH-DEFINITION movies in the form of Blu-Ray discs with unsurpassed sound and video quality, upload photos, music, and all other forms of multimedia. You can play games, connect to your PSP, video messaging and much much more.
The PS3 will obviously win this generation because it is the best out there with the most must-have games. Let's not forget all the games on the 360 worth purchasing are on the PC (Gears, Bioshock, soon to be Halo 3).
So do you want to spend your hard-earned money on a real next-gen system or on an unreliable system with no variety in it's gaming library and no exclusives?

Why stoop to this? You know better...

Apparently it is, as these numbers (someone posted them yesterday) clearly demonstrate:

People just prefer the 360. The PS3 is a wont buy this generation, not a must buy.
try posting worldwide not American number. the world wide sells are what really matter. also world wide the ps3 and the 360 were equal i have a post to prove
Well, there are no good sales numbers coming from outside of England, Japan and the North America, so I don't know what you think you proved. If you go by the numbers MS or Sony are providing then you are just proving that some people are willing to believe the crap provided by a corporation's propaganda machine.
I have a bunch of friends in Italy and they told me that the 360 is winning in that country. Some Cows believe that Italy is Sonyland. I believe the information coming straight from the horses mouth...not the cows mouth. :P
Edit: I also know a couple of guys from Mexico City...yeap, you guessed it....the 360 is kicking butt in Mexico too. The reason? Well, they said that at first it was because of the price (the PS3 is like $1000 down there), but now its also about the games (the 360 library is awe inspiring).
heres my link
heres another if you don't believe the first link and if you don't believe those two then you can go by sonys numbers i mean why wouldn't you.
by the way i don't listen to the whole i have friends in this place crap. since the price drop sales have gone up in Europe i listen or read real news not fanboys talk

didn't you use vg charts to get your numbers?? theose links are the closest your going to get.
Oh, sure it's the best next-gen console ever. Right, right, I might just accept that, but of course...
I can't play any games on it. You said "all its games worth buying are on the PC as well", well at least we actually have games to play and that statement is also not true. Why? Forza Motorsport 2, Halo 3, Mass Effect (9.75 at Game Informer FTW), and afew more that I don't feel like posting right now. Now, what do all of those games have in common with each other? Oh, yes, they all have better scores than any PS3 game right now (see gamerankings).
Then let's look at online play. While, yes, you have to pay for Xbox Live, it's not that much. It's also a small price to pay considering we don't have a crappy, half-baked operating system.
You talk about the PS3 having a blu-ray player, well the Xbox 360 has the ablity that you can rent movies on the internet. And it's also true that more people are renting movies instead of buying them to own them. So really the 360 HAS an HD movie player, it's just not done by discs, it's done by download. I actually prefer it that way, come to think of it: I spend less, do less, and get the most.
So while you sit there enjoying your best "console" with the best graphics ever, I'm going to actually enjoy my "not so great" system's great games that actually exist, not sit there thinking "Oh my gosh! Good games are coming out soon!"
