The PS3 lineup for 2007 is terrible

Just because the PS3 line-up is terrible in your opinion, doesn't mean its terrible for PS3 owners, but I'm guessing you know that already.

Like me, I'm holding judgement on Lair and Heavenly Sword like many other people are. Both could turn out to be really fun games, but I don't know if I will purchase them because they just might not live to their potential. Uncharted might be a cool game, but I would have to research it more before I would consider it. And as for Ratchet, game looks beautiful and pretty fun, so I'm consdering picking it up.

But my opinion on those games isn't the same for all PS3 owners. And even though it may have the worst line-up ofthe three current consoles, its 08+ line-up looks spectacular which I'm excited for.

And I guess I knew that the line-up for this fall would be a little sub-par, I mean I bought my PS3 less than a month ago. But that's why I bought Oblivion to keep me busy :D

Fanboy blinkers? How exactly do you think I reacted to the idea that Warhawk was MP only? Pretty much like everybody else. Lair and Warhawk are fundamentally different games. For one thing, it's a story based game versus a pure skill based game. For a second, Lair's mechanics are based on flying a living being, whereas Warhawk's are mechanical. Warhawk doesn't even take place in the sky all the time, you can be a foot soldier. IN lair, you don't have that option.

They aren't the same game, not for a second. You can be an idiot about it all you want, and I'm sure you will, but it takes a little more than "watching game videos" to understand how the games operate independent of each other.

Why are people getting so excited about the games for the PS3 in 2007? they are a joke. Of all 3 consoles the PS3 has by far the worst lineup of exclusives in 2007, and the multiplats are guaranteed to be better on the 360 as well. Check out this list of exclusives

1. Lair - Crappy Dragon Game from the makers of Rogue Squadron. Basically the exact same game as rogue squadron with dragons and a bad art style. Huge Flop
2. Heavenly Sword - Rejected XBox game. God of War clone with terrible combat, excellent cutscenes and quicktime events.Presentationally very good, Gameplay wise a flop.
3. Uncharted - Beautiful looking pitfall clone with some of the worst combat ever seen in game. Apparently the enemies take about 50 bullets to kill and judgin from the gameplay videos the game falls apart in a firefight. AA at best
4. Ratchet and Clank - solid platforming/shooting series that has only ever managed to scrape AAA at its best (which it doesn't look like the latest game is). Worthless compared to Mario games especially great ones like Galaxy. Even an OK mario game like NSMB DS got AAA, against a good mario game Ratchet stands no chance.

The 360 has the aforementioned multiplatform games, console exclusives like Bioshock and AAA exclusives like Mass Effect and Halo 3. the Wii has Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, SSBB, Battalion Wars 2, no more heroes, Mysims and probably the best RPG on next gen consoles this year (Fire Emblem). Yep, whether people want to admit it or not the 2007 lineup for the PS3 is terrible. That's exactly why I'm picking up my PS3 in December and not a moment sooner. Hopefully 08 will be better, and at least by December I'll be able to play Heavenly Sword and Haze.

1. LAIR-I dont ever recall anybody on these boards EVER claiming LAIR as being AAA. I personally have thought from day one that it would be AA. Yes, its made by the Rogue Squadron guys at FACTOR 5! Yes, it may be nothing more than Rogue Squadron with ragons instead of X WINGS but I persoanlly loved Rogue Squadron back on the GC, so Im sure fans of that game will love LAIR! You also seem to have forgotten (2) HUGE CONSOLE EXCLUSIVES for the PS3 in 2007 that make all the difference in the world when you judge the PS3's Fall/Holiday line up......UT 3 and HAZE!!!! Nuff said!!!

What I think he's trying to get around to you is the fact that the 360 games you listed AREN'T exclusive because they're going to the PC, whereas all of the PS3 games are true exclusives because they're ONLY on the PS3.

Well it was rejected by Microsoft on the 360. Many critics have commented that it comments unfavourably to GOW and Edge have commented on the fact that the animations are stilted and affect the flow of gameplay. Itagaki has said all there needs to be said about the QTE's

An early concept/design was rejected by Microsoft. Not the game currently running on the PS3 today. MOST critics are positive, and they can't really be critics unless they've played the full version, you referencing one critic on animation means nothing.

And Itagaki? The same guy who insulted Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Devil May Cry? That might be a GOOD OMEN for Heavenly Sword.

PS3 owners should just get SUCKER tattooed on their foreheads and never be allowed to make another financial decision over $10. What chumps. There wont be any reason to buya PS3 till 2009 at the soonest, when its price drops down and a few good games are out for it like MGS4 and... *shrugs*, wow there really isnt much else.

Warhawk is a tight UT meets Battlefield third person action game, and Lair is very much more flight sim action based game, like other Rogue Squadrons. Its cool, Persona 3 comes out for PS2 the same day Bioshock comes out for 360, so maybe cows will have something to do besides read about Bioshock's greatness. I mean, Persona 3 got an 8.5 and has an M rating, so it should be worth playing. Funny more cows dont bring that game up, I think its Sony exclusive?

Persona 3 looks awesome, it'll give me something to do when not playing Bioshock, ah the joys of multi console gaming.

This isn't Sony's best ever Christmus lineup, but it isn't bad. Anyone tearing down Rachet and Clank and Uncharted is just kidding themselves. Look at the developers track record. Haze and Unreal III are time exclusives and look to be solid. Nevermind all the other good multiplatform games.

Oh by the way, Bioshock will unlikely stay exclusive if the developers have been working on a PS3 version for a while. Its only a timed exclusive like Haze.
