First MGS4 hit the scene with it's 30 hour cut scenes , then Heavy Rain, and now God Of War 3 will be released. I wish Sony would get the idea out of their head that people like watching games more than playing them.

MGS4 has 9 hours of movie and 10 hours of gameplay. 9 + 10 = 19
Halo3 has 3 hours of gameplay + movie. 3 + 0 = 3
.the end.
(just kidding, they're both great) ;)
Thanks, I haven't laughed much today.
MGS4 isn't an interactive movie, it's a game with really long cutscenes. The cutscenes aren't interactive and the gameplay is completely separate. Heavy Rain ya it is, but what's wrong with it being different from everything else, there are no other true interactive movies. AND WHAT? GOD OF WAR III AN INTERACTIVE MOVIE?!?!?! BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That's the stupidest thing I've heard all day, it's 90% fighting, 9% puzzles, and maybe 1% cutscenes.
So you named 3 games out of an entire catalog? Too many? No. Only one is really. So make it 1 out of hundreds of games.
I heard that GOW3 is more gameplay than movie. In fact, I think that I have read that it won't have any movie at all. Of course, I may be wrong and if I am then I'm sorry. Miroku32Yup, all cutscenes are in game like Uncharted 2, and less frequent than UC2, which isn't frequent at all.
The only game you listed that could be construed as an interactive movie is Heavy Rain. The other games have pretty standard gameplay concepts. MGS4 has a ton of options, but they're all carried out in the same manner as any other game.
Cutscenes are normal for games, they progress the story. You don't have to sit through them in MGS4, I haven't since beating it the first time.
I never understood this. If you can control your character, it's a game. Why is this so hard to understand? :|
How is God Of War an "interctive movie." Heavy Rain is the only good example you listed. MGS4 was an action game with Really Long cutscenes. If you're arguing that the PS3 has too many games with Holywood movie level presentation, well, how is that a bad thing?
There's only one interactive movie game, that is Heavy Rain and it bears that label proudly. :)
I'd say the PS3 is flourishing with too many INCREDIBLE games.
I could of swore MGS had about 8-10 hours of gameplay. Also God of War 3 is an Action title. As for Heavy Rain I really doubt you actually played the game TC.
God of War III is an interactive movie. Wow. NAPK1NSTC is almost as bad as the guy who was bashing GoW 3 for supposedly taking place during "MedEvil" times lol.

God of War doesn't take place at that time, and B. How is that even a criticism? That's the thing. GoW doesn't take place in that time period yet some user is bashing the game for supposedly doing so. The criticism is that the both that user and the TC are making blindasumptions on GoW. Everyone knows that GoW 3 isn't an interactive movie and it doesn't take place during that time period.[QUOTE="NAPK1NS"]God of War III is an interactive movie. Wow. PannicAtack
The only game that could be considered an interactive movie is Heavy Rain, and I found it fantastic. MGS4 is also a fantastic game that garnered a perfect score here and God of War III looks godly.
If that's suffering then call me a masochist, because I want more.
Nice try but I think you could do better next time. Practice makes perfect

TC needs to...
Anyways, another thread where TC makes an absurd claim and then never even bothers showing back up to defend his claim. How original.
MGSIV's long cutscenes means it's an interactive movie? I'm not going to even bother with God of War 3, because if it's an interactive movie, every single Action Adventure game is as well.
IP and Heavy Rain were my first two interactive drama's. Every other Adventure game I've played fofore those two were point and click's (well except for some titles).I thought this was a joke topic, who doesn't love to play interactive movie games?

Look, I hate to sound like a fanboy but the 360 AAAE library is entirely shooters and racers. PS3 has Action adventures, sports, rpgs, sandbox, stealth, shooters.
emorainbo
The 360 has better stealth with Splinter Cell, It has sandbox with GTA 4 , Saints Row and Crackdown. It has the best RPG Mass Effect 2. So you couldn't be more wrong than you are right now.

Splinter Cell is neither exclusive nor AAA, GTA4 is not exclusive, Saints Row and Crackdown are not AAA, and Mass Effect 2 is not exclusive. You suffer from fanboyism. This might be the saddest topic i've seen in a really long time.GiantMuffinagreed
Come on, even I know that GOW3 won't be an interactive movie, that game has oodles of 'gameplay' time.First MGS4 hit the scene with it's 30 hour cut scenes , then Heavy Rain, and now God Of War 3 will be released. I wish Sony would get the idea out of their head that people like watching games more than playing them.
