WOW, just wow, Finally I can say the game has gone to the next level. Yakuza games always looked great on PS3 but they all lacked the sense of progression. Rejoice Yakuza and Shenmue fans, this is going to be amazing.

I really hope Shenmue 3 gets the same treatment.

Not really seeing the sense of progression from this trailer. In saying that, it will likely be better than most of Sony's offerings on the PS4.

Sadly one of the few gems that I never got to play despite everyone screaming at me, you gotta play Yakuza games. I cant wait to get started with Yakuza zero.

It doesn't have a 6 million dollar budget, that is just what the community contributed, there are other investors on the project.

@GameboyTroy: Well see, i highly doubt this game sells good at all. My guess would be 250k. I think Devils Third looks better though. This game looks just like Yakuza 5 graphics on PS3.

Another Yakuza game to wait to come to the west 4 years later... or never come to the west. But really though I need to play these, they look like they're up my alley.

@nyadc: As far as I know it's only Sony helping out with funding and that is only to support the porting of a PS4 version.. Not for the game itself. It only has a 6.4 million budget for the game development.

@2mrw: Probably wont be a disappointment but I doubt it will be anywhere near the production values of a Yakuza game.. It only made half it's stretch goals. Things like combat physics might be non-existent.

This is just visual porn, and i mean it in a bad way.

Unless i can drop kick people on that well made wodden bar, or cram peoples's head in the shelve of the store, this is a Yakuza 3 trailer.

Shenmue 3 is in heavy production. It's unfair to compare a vertical slice/controlled demo with actual Work in Progress game footage. Not to mention, Shenmue 3 is using Unreal Engine 4, which is very accessible and can do wonders, when it comes to visuals. You have to keep game budget in mind too. Obviously, Yakuza's budget is bigger than Shenmue's.

I didn't say anything about Sony, they are aiding in certain regards like publishing and marketing, but they're not directly funding the development of the game, we and other investors are.

"Can you make an open world game for just $2 million?"

"No, we cannot make an open world game for $2 million. Shenmue will be produced using both the funds raised from the Kickstarter and through other funding sources already secured by Ys Net Inc."

The only thing the trailer seems to be showcasing is Sega's new graphics engine, which looks great. But it would've been nice if they showed some gameplay or story along with it.

Yakuza = Shenmue + Streets of Rage + Virtua Fighter + Crazy Taxi + GTA + RPG + Quentin Tarantino

...If you like either of those things, then it's worth giving Yakuza a shot.

Yeah, you need an eye transplant I think... Yakuza 6, in the trailer at least, looks far better than the visuals in the Devils trailer.

@PernicioEnigma: I didnt think so, i felt the Devils Third character detail looked better then Yakuza 6's gameplay part. I also think thats why they refused to show his face and only showed him walking slow. I could be wrong though, but it looks like a PS3 engine for sure. I think they are using same engine as they did for Yakuza 5,

Shenmue 3 will be way better

Yakuza 6 should turn out pretty good though.

Will the Xbone have anything to compete with these two games?

The trailer showed Kazuma's face right down to the tiniest facial details like the skin pores and eye-lashes, the guy he was beating up looked very realistic (like your average Japanese guy), and an earlier teaser showed a very close recreation of Takeshi Kitani's face. Also, this trailer showed the use of global illumination for the environments, which not only the Wii U would struggle with, but even some of the best-looking games today can't do global illumination (like Witcher 3). Your comparisons to the Wii U and PS3 are nonsensical. Yakuza 6's graphics are right up there with some of the most impressive-looking PS4 games. The only downside is the character body animations, which could use a lot of work.

Im talking gameplay wise, not a cgi cutscene. The only gameplay they showed was a short clip of his back walking for like 5 seconds.

I don't see any reason to assume it's CGI, especially when the graphics are well within what the PS4 is capable of. It clearly looks like in-engine cutscenes. Also, Sega rarely ever uses CGI any way. Nevertheless, it's unlikely the gameplay would match the graphical quality of the in-engine cutscenes. But we've barely seen any gameplay to judge its gameplay graphics yet.
