The psn network is a joke compared to xboxlive.

Yesterday I started browsing for a playstation, fifa 18 ultimate team is dead atm and fifa 19 is still a month away, so I thought maybe time to play around with a playstation for a change.

I found a great deal on the second hand market, a ps4 fat, controller, controller charger, psvr, camera, two move controller and 17 games for the staggering price of 300 bucks.That was ok for me, since I can sell all that without making a loss, and keep me occupied till fifa 19 releases.

I used an old account I still have, logged on, tried to message a friend, and it didn't work, tried to find a solution online, aparrently a bug, need to call playstation support for that. What? for a sending a message, lmao

Ok, so I thought maybe download world of tanks, since I still got some tanks on there I want play around with. Tanks I don't have on the xbox, I grinded different ones there.

Well, well, well, after starting the download I couldn't believe my eyes, 11 hours wait time. You got to be kidding me, in 2018, 11 hours to download 60gb? that takes me 2 hours tops on the xbox.

I can only imagine how frustrating the lag would have to be if they can only give you 1mb for downloads. But nothing new there, anyone that loves console multiplayer is better off with an xbox.

you can download games on xbox without the paid service. You can also on ps4 and grow a beard at the same time

Once it took me more than 24h to download Fallout 4. But that was a one time thing, usually it works fine.

XBL is much better suited for digital consumers, from fast downloads if your ISP supports fast enough speeds, I also really like how easy it is to manage my digital library and install/uninstall what I need to, no fuss over games saves with auto cloud backup makes fussing with such things no longer a consideration, and the ease of plugging in a 4TB external and not having to worry of space means I can have lots of games on hand. It's also well situated to transfer accounts across hardware, whIle in past with Sony hardware I have had to unregister my consoles because game installs are limited to a number of devices.

Sony is improving on this end too, they were late to party but eventually offered external support. I also hear they were updating library management to something similar a while back, beforehand I recall workarounds like logging into PSN through PS4 browser and looking at purchases there. Not sure about speeds, I remember PS3 having sluggish downloads but I would hope in these days just like with XBL download speeds might be more limited by users ISP than the network. I also know that when downloading to XB1 that speeds differ depending on whether I am playing something or not. Not sure if limited by system resources, maybe the bandwidth of my USB cord since I am running and installing things to an external, most times though I never wait for anything too long.

Surely you are wrong, I am well informed on the benefits of console gaming.

Strange, World Of Tanks took 4 hours for me on PS4.

But Deus EX took 13 hours on the Bone.

I’ve had great experiences with downloading on my pro. Don’t know what you’re crying about. Also, when it says the game is ready to play, I can actually play it.

Or when I leave it in sleep mode when I turn it back on everything has downloaded or updated. Try that on the bone lol.

Xbox live service was down for several hours this week. Just saying.

Was annoyed when I had ti pay to play SFV online. Shit free (and better) on PC.

At least I get free games I suppose, even if they are shitty.

I could actually play after 4 hours now, but without high resolution textures, it downloads in the background now but it makes the game unplayable.

The network is shit, can't even watch a video on the browser without it lagging every 5 seconds while this is downloading.

yeah right , I play on the xboxone all the time, and watching video's browsing and what not, this just doesn't occur on the xboxone.

PS4 certainly has the worst online gaming compared to PC(which has the best, by far) and XB.

What is your home internet speeds? I have 180+mbps and I can download a full game in less than an hour

I have also heard BoneS louder than a jet. But i'm an exception right, anything i say doesn't matter or you don't care.

Download speeds have always been a problem for me on my PS4 vs Xbox one. I pay for 175 down and my xbox can do about 140-170 download but my ps4 can barely crack the 100's. This is all on wifi with them sitting next to each other.

Its not just my ps4 that has issues. I had slow downloads with my PS3. I think Sony just likes to crap out on the wifi modules in their electronics. My Sony X900E tv has horrible wifi too, it can barely crack 20-30 down. I have to get an ethernet cable across the house for it at some point.
