The "New" Xbox Dashboard is Here Already. Yes, the new one.

So now that rumors are pointing that Microsoft will call their new Xbox.... the "New" Xbox (Taking notes from the Apple again. Remember the iPad 3 is not called the iPad 3. It is called the "New" iPad.)

What you think it's dashboard will look like? I think we have been looking at it for a while now.

The "METRO" layout from WINDOWS 8 WILL BE THE NEW DASHBOARD!

What better way to launch a console with the support of the Windows 8 App Community? Imagine all Windows RT apps working on the "New" Xbox at launch? Instant OWNAGE!

Mix this in with something that other console released with (*cough* tablet controller *cough*) and it will do wonders. Tablet controls are not gimmicks unless ONLY Nintendo do. Right??:P

I just wish they'd stop changing it. Just when I get over hating it and start getting used to it and figuring out where everything is they go and change it again. And are they seriously considering calling it the New Xbox? What happens when the next generation comes around? Soccer mums are going to go for the New Xbox which happens to have a cheaper price.

Just call it the Xbox Blast/Shoot/Bullet/Liberty/Quickscope/Freedom. Trillions sold. I should get into marketing... XterminationBox!

If they cleaned it up a bit, it'd look great.

And it would be perfect for remotely controlling via your phone or tablet with SmartGlass. I was initially totally averse to the idea of SmartGlass, but I get it now. It's not actually a gimmick!

Dashboard gets worse and worse each year with more ads.

Its amazing at how bad it actually looks. I mean from a designer point of view, I could possibly see how it "looks cool", however just looking at the screenshot, its hard to make out what is where and why it is there. The old old dashboard like with the games lined up, looks so much better, you can see more but its still the same screen size, everything is proportional so your eyes are not drawn to anything specific that is probably an ad.

I like the idea of uniformatity between platforms, however I dont think that copy and pasting it is the best way forward. There is a reason why desktops are meant to be kept clean, its like having everything on display, so it becomes information overload and just looks messy.

That looks horrible, it's like a touchpad UI. That's terrible for a console UI, it's the reason everyone hates Windows 8 too, it's an interface made for touch screens.

Our guitarists POD rack system even has connectivity with PC's and interfacing aswell now.Its made things easier for the 2 guitarists they sit and tweak everything bout their tone and dont even need to be in the same room to do it considering we all live far apart, they just fire between one another their files for the POD and off it goes.

Connectivity is a blessing but at the same time i could see it being a problem further down the line if things get too connected.

I was happy with 360's first interface, the Blades. I thought it looks great, MS should have sticked with it.

Yes, I've hooked my PSP up with PS3 and I failed to see anything useful about it. Just sharing photos, videos and some stuff. That's it.

Again, there are times when I hook my phone up with my PC to drop some photos.

What Wasdie was talking about is the possibility of an app in Windows 8 which allows you to connect to your Xbox console. I fail to see the need for media on a console. It's a gaming console, so what is the point of the stupid connectivity and media? Leave them to PC.
