I believe they should just let people choose the interface they want and leave it at that.

delta3074

I was happy with 360's first interface, the Blades. I thought it looks great, MS should have sticked with it.

MS isn't good with consoles, huh? They should leave. If they want to stay, they should at least produce something useful and keep gamers content.

They couldn't stick with the Blades system, Kinect won't work with something like that.

Fvck Kinect.

Cross connectivity is something I never used. No use for me.

GamerwillzPS

so you never hooked up your phone or your MP3 player to your Ps or PC? Never hooked your PsP up to your Ps3? Never downloades a game to your phone Via the internet on your PC? thats all cross connectivity is really, Making everything compatible with everytjing else.

Yes, I've hooked my PSP up with PS3 and I failed to see anything useful about it. Just sharing photos, videos and some stuff. That's it.

Again, there are times when I hook my phone up with my PC to drop some photos.

What Wasdie was talking about is the possibility of an app in Windows 8 which allows you to connect to your Xbox console. I fail to see the need for media on a console. It's a gaming console, so what is the point of the stupid connectivity and media? Leave them to PC.

You're one of those people that still believes consoles are just for gaming. They're not. They're multimedia entertainment systems. Just like phones aren't just for calling anymore. Technology moving forward.

I never used media on consoles. Just for gaming. There's a PC for media. Hell, PC can be used for superior gaming. You can do EVERYTHING on PC.

The value of the game console right now is that it can replace multiple devices you used to hook up to a TV in the past. It's a good thing for the industry as a whole.

Being well old (38) i kind of see his point, i know a lot of people who feel uncomfortable with technology changing so fast, i am lucky in the sense that i have always embraced new technology but to be honest i only use my 360 For one thing and one thing Only which is to play games, i worry sometimes that consoles will lose there identity entirely, thay are , at there core, Games machines and people should not forget that.

And a lot off stuff can also be done on consoles. Games, movies, music. This isn't anything new. The Ps2 could even read DVDs to watch movies.

Oh yes, being able to watch DVD and BD movies on consoles is useful. I do that all the time on our PS3 downstairs, we're using it as a DVD/BD player. But I never used photos on it.

It will only go further, but there's nothing anyone should be worried about. Start getting worried if you hear them taking out things that have to do with gaming. It's just much more than just a gaming console, but gaming is still the primary focus.

Are people this stupid? Your crying about ads during the VIDEO section where streaming happens? Your crying about Ads in the GAMING section when its showing new game releases and DLC's? To even b1tch about this is ridiculous, they don't get in the way and they actually are helpful at times in telling you new releases... sSubZerOo

Are you kidding me? No way. The same people who complain about this would not expect to see the ads/previews in theaters. They would not expect to have ads/previews from their cable TV/Direct TV services and on Blu-ray movies. They would not expect to see ads in the news paper. They would not expect to see ads in puplic transportions. You know, they all are living in a fantasy world rather then ours.

I never hear of people enjoying ads. Most people hate having to watch 15 sec ads on youtube, but I guess some people feel 'informed' and love them.

This just in; New Xbox will use a Windows 8-style interface that you can navigate with a revolutionary touchscreen controller.

It will require mandatory installs with adds from Old Spice during each install. BUH-BAH-BUM-BAH-BUM-BAH-BOW-BOW!

To keep costs low for the consumer, it's kept generally the same hardware as the Xbox (since the OS is so fancy), except for more RAM.

Since Bluray Disc Drives aren't standard in PC's yet, Microsoft will utilize DVD's again to help keep costs down.

In this case, I see them wanting everything to be uniform with Windows 8. The Windows phone have the same exact type of interface as well.

Don't care about how dashboard look like but i certainly don't want it to look "jersey shory". Give me that ugly Xbox 1 interface! That felt like a gaming console and not some apple wannabe product

The Xbox will get an update to bring it in line with Windows 8 and Windows Phone as they create a familiar eco system. Its really not a lot to imagine. I would like to see an xbox thats built to last 5 years in terms of graphic fidelity and of course reliability. It would make sense for it to be compatible with either RT or x86 apps from the windows stores and to use skydrive for game saves etc.. The maximum cash price I think they could sell the new console for would be £329 (UK pounds) and thats for the premium model.

um I don't want the ad's I pay money and give microsoft record profits they don't need ad revenue specially since they lie and say they need it to make the service better but the service hasn't got better they don't secure exclusives, timed exclusives any more, they don't secure dlc, they don't make any worthwhile new content them selves. they are making massive profit and doing nothing with it.

Makes sense. The current dashboard is already very similar to Windows 8. I wouldn't be suprised if we see some sort of an app in Windows 8 that connects your PC to your Xbox directly somehow.

Talk about gimmicks.

Connectivity across devices is a "gimmick," Will I Am?
