It's far beyond that. Critically important information in the video is absolutely wrong, and other extremely important information is missing. And yes, beacuse of that, the video as a whole is worse than useless, because it twists what little information is actually there to push a specific agenda, instead of trying to accurately portray the strengths and weaknesses of the two platforms.

What agenda would he have to create this video, this video has all the neccesary information to see the truth, but some people tend to dismiss the importance of some of the fact, like the Xbox 360 being able so support Direct X 10, but the ps3 cannot, and some people dont see how much of an impact Direct X 10 makes on the graphics of games.

Again your part of the group who just dismiss the video's just because their saying why the system you payed $600 for is not the best, you really should take this under advisement and not dismiss it because the ps3 is more expensive, doesnt make it the best.

We dismiss the video because it is inaccurate, if not outright libel. I've tracked the Cell as I find it intruiging (and I'm certainly far, FAR from the only one) and so many things there are entirely misleading.

For instance, he doesn't distinguish between single-point and double-point precision functions, theres no mention that the 1MB of L2 cache is shared between 3 cores in the case of the 360 CPU (although admitted the amount required per core goes down with increased numbers).

The mention of these supposed "memory limitations" in the case of the Cell are also bunk as most work in intended to be executed on the SPEs with the PPU intended to do oversight work rather than heavy lifting.

The entire GPU section is invalid due to NDA agreements surrounding it. Clockspeed is one of the things he sites but thats not allowed to be discussed under those agreements. We do know however that the two GPUs are decidedly similar in end performance which is not at all at odds with "FAR behind" as he puts it.

The 96MB of RAM usage for the OS is under NDA and if you believe the leaks its dropped to 64MB and is consistently dropping further as Sony improves it's efficiency. The thing about the SPE being taken has been called by people at Beyond3D (which is for all intensive purposes the developer forum community) and I quote "Bull****".

Oh lord..he used "some say" here, thats ALWAYS a cop out for spreading your own biased opinion with no risk of accountability.

The comment about only being able to use 256MB of memory for textures at once is entirely false, although its not particularly efficient to use the system memory.

Lastly the comments about Blu-Ray load times are entirely off, if you really want to get down to it, the reason is because Xbox 360's DVD9 takes a serious performance hit as compared to DVD5. You effectively have 8x speeds as opposed to 12x under those circumstances and averaged thats slightly slower than the 2x BD drive in the PS3, at least if developers are using the full extend of disc space (which many now are).

P.S. Why did I watch all of that when I could have looked at the last referrence and see it was the dpad.gotfrag article which is utter crap and has been debunked long before now? *sighs*

But this topic is not just about graphics eather, it is why the xbox 360 is better than the Ps3, and that is why i posted that comment, the four things a console should be is, Affordable, Better than any other console, to what the consumer wants it to do and be reliable.

You also didn't mention that there is much more than 512k of L1 cache for Cell, since there is an additional 256k of local storage per SPE, which equates to more than double the L1 cache for Xenon.

Additionally, another thing to remember is that the 360's EDRAM is not a bonus, it's a requirement. If screenbuffer traffic had to go over main RAM, the entire graphics pipeline would be broken.

I once saw a video on youtube that was supposed to be the "truth" about the PS3 and the Xbox 360. He talked about how much better the cell was, but never touched the graphics department. Then he tried to say that the only game Xbox 360 had was Halo 3 and said that PS3 was beating Xbox 360 in the games department. Since then I've refrained from watching any videos on youtube about the "truth". :P
