The reason why X360 is selling more than PS3

I think its selling because its better and cheaper.

I think most PS3 sales are off the back of A)The brand name B)The blu ray and C)RROD horror stories regarding the xbox

Price is the reason, as well as exclusives like Gears and Halo being huge phenomena in comparison to MGS or Resistance.

Although I should think the PS3 would be more economical in the long run without $50 online.

Because it is the cheapest system now. Even cheaper than the Wii.

3. Vastly more RPGs and variety in lineup
4. Best online
5. Best versions of multiplatforms most of the time, plus extra content for major titles like Fallout 3, GTA4 etc

360 sells better because of

2. Better and far more exclusives (counting console exclusives) than just overhyped overscored last gen in gameplay and level design games (LBP, MGS4 etc) - FALSE (its just a very biased opinion)
3. Vastly more RPGs and variety in lineup - TRUE as regards quantity, but surely not a list which contains quality RPGS (check reviews)
4. Best online - Debatable since its not a FREE service and its not that superior to justify paying for it..
5. Best versions of multiplatforms most of the time, plus extra content for major titles like Fallout 3, GTA4 etc - MAYBE, but most multiplats are of same quality.. Minor differences dont effect gameplay / story or fun in games, unless you stop analising every frame/area/animation etc etc while playing a game in order to compare it to other versions..

So when logic and common sense are applied the only TRUE reason why 360 is selling better is purely cause it has a cheaper price-tag... both systems have great exclusives, great multiplats, good online services which do their MAIN purpose (playing games online) and some great upcoming titles..

But when logic and common sense are not applied you see lists of reasons why PS3 is not selling on par with 360 from fanboys containing nonsense...

Price is the real reason .. both consoles are so similar that you only need to buy one and the 360 is half the price of the PS3

if it wasn't for the BLu-ray and the PSX name the PS3 would be dead in the water

But this is short term the price will come down and people will feel that it's worth getting for the exclusives and the added extras

Unless the Wii-placement comes out at cheap money and better than current machines we'll be looking at a fairly even split of console sales come the end of this generation .. with the only real winner being nintendo with it's cash cow in the very overpriced Wii

Personally i'd happily buy a PS3 when it's 1/3 cheaper and i can pick up some of the older games for silly cheap money

So yes people should just accept the fact that PRICE is the main factor why PS3 is not selling as much as 360 atm..

PS3 has no RPG's, and so far has some of the lowest quality as far as next gen gameplay and level design go games, like Uncharted, MGS4, LBP, with the tiny paths and small levels

So, 360 wins in visuals, huge open worlds like Fable 2, real next gen and innovative gameplay in Fable 2, Banjo 3, in level design in games, in RPG's quality and quantity (just see hosw mediocre the only PS3 RPG, White Knight looks and plays), in overall game quality, in startegy titles, in shooters etc etc

And will get even better in 2009 too, with even more RPG's, even more REAL next gen huge free roaming worlds (Alan Wake,KUF2, Two Worlds Temptation, Divinity 2, Venetica etc), even more startegy, adventure etc title with real huge next gen worlds, not paths like in th last gen offerings of PS3 like Uncharted 1-2, Heavy Rain, GOW3, MGS4, LBP etc

So, for half the price, you can have the best Ferrari in the world, when with a PS3 you have to pay double to get a crippled Ferrari without wheels and fuel box

Obviously the unmeaningful ways are , reliability , internet browsing , free online multiplayer , New (flawed) portal system in home , built in WI-fi , easier and more complete media sharing / Media centre functionality.

not saying the PS3 is in anyway worth the extra money .. but for some people these are deciding factors

I'm an xbox owner these features were not a big enough sale for me .. but i still see their worth.

Games are a matter of taste and you cannot really say 360 wins in visuals when PS3 has games like Uncharted, R&C and upcoming titles such as Heavy Rain, Uncharted2 & Killzone2... both offer great visuals...

Also you just stop at quantity when pointing out 360 has more RPGS, quality of most of those rpgs is inferior to rpgs which came out last gen on PS2... so i dont care about quantity i prefare quality...

you probably have only a 360 so its understandable you praise your console not having other systems.... its common for people to bash what they dont own or else cannot afford... doesnt mean they are right at bashing though...

I have both a PS3 and 360, and Wii too, that does not mean i like them so far, they have both been a huge dissapointment, and until FF13vs arrives, PS3 won't get any better for me

As for 360 RPG quality, i loved most of them, so they are great to top quality for me so far, each seems vastly better than White Knight which feels like a last gen generic MMO

Have you lot never read the threads and papers and websites which say about how the ps3 has sold more on a average month in its life time so far then the 360!!! there more 360 just because it has been out longer but its not outselling and the ps3 is gaining plus with this year looking so great in the land of playstation you gap is going to decrease fastshoemen22
