The main thing I don't like about PC gaming is you always have to check the game box to see if your PC will run it.

Wow. I'll never spend $1000 on a GPU, but holy crap that looks nice.

I've never had to do this in 15 years of PC gaming.

So without looking at specs, I'm guessing it isn't worth it considering the Rolls Royce reference?

Waiting a few months on their REAL card line would probably be better. Then again, I don't keep tabs on them so not sure if it will be soon.

For pure gaming, either a single 670 or 7970 would be better. SLI still has problems. You are also limited to 3GB of VRAM with that config.

So are you guys all buying GPUs on their own and buying the rest of the card seperate these days? That's a strange way of doing things. Do you just seat the GPU into its slot on the PCB yourselves?

Your 690 has a slight edge in overall performance... the main appeal of the Titan is having roughly 690 GTX level of perormance on a single chip (no potential SLI compatibility issues), with better accoustics and power consumption.

------

All in all, it's a very nice card, I'd go for it if I was in the market for something like it. Still, I think some $900 would've been a more fair price.

Big mistake.

The 8800gtx had some legs. You were pretty much good to go for the next 3-4 years at least.
