PC and DS.strider_ATIthis, 360 just has a load of mediocre rpgs, with only mass effect, fable 2 and fallout 3 standing out.
The truth is that with a 360 that costs 199$ you get
- 99% of the best PC RPG's (Dragon Age, Witcher, Two Worlds Temptation, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Venetica, Risen, Divinity 2 etc)
- the biggest PS3 JRPG, FF13
- a host of exclusive to 360 WRPG's, like Fable 2, Mass Effect 1-2 (timed), Too Human etc
- and a host of exclusive to 360 JRPG's (Star Ocean 4, Cry On, lost Odyssey, Tales, Blue Dragon)
I ned to know what makes PC so much better exactly, all 360 misses is Diablo 3, and i do not even need an upgrade to play that game on my old PC
BTW i was a PC gamer for years, now with 360 there is no more reason to go with expensive upgrades and frustration

Strange, i loved most of the RPG's i played on my 360
You mean everyone should have the same opinion as you ? They are good to amazing for me
And BTW what next gen RPG's does PC have above 360 ?
The DS had what? Apart from port and a sub par(fF4) can't rememer what else DS had this year. 360 wins 08 alone with Lost OdysseyNintendo DS > 360, PS3 and Wii
I'd honestly say the PS2 had a decent RPG year too.

DS and Xbox 360 will has the most and probably the best overall. Yes the PS3 will have Valkyrie Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles, FF XIII & Versus, but what else?
XBox 360 already has Fable 2, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Too Human and will be getting Star Ocean, FF XIII, Dragon Age and serveral others next year. I won't even touch the DS list of RPGS. Way to many to list.

i never said anyone had to agree with me, but if you've played any previous rpg, you'll find the likes of lost odyssey, blue dragon and whatever else to add nothing new to the genre other than a new story. If you enjoyed them then fair enough, i just see nothing special about it. over 360 it has superior versions of Dragon Age, Witcher, Two Worlds Temptation, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Venetica, Risen, Divinity 2 and Mass effect.PC as allways_rpg_FANMost of the RPGS coming out on the PC will also be on the PS3 and XBox 360. Even Dragon Age won't be PC exclusive. Most of the RPG's on the PC won't run at the highest resolution on my PC. The only RPG I may get for the PC is Dragon Age. Everything else I'll get for the console most likely.

Also while i liked Blue Dragon and loved LO, indeed offered nothing much new, as 99.999% of RPG's coming in all systems, that is not a reason not to like a RPG, at least for me
It's about quantity really. Personally not really interested in either MMORPGs or jRPGs, but for arguments sake lets say they cancel each other out.The truth is that with a 360 that costs 199$ you get

The big multiplats like Mass Effect, Fallout3, Oblivion, The Witcher, Dragon Age etc. are the same tho usually a bit better on PC. 360 has Fable2 but PC has NWN2.
But after all these PC is left with a number of smaller titles like Gothic3, Titan Quest, Mount&Blade, Avencast, Loki, King's Bounty etc. while the 360 has nothing.

I see you tap on years old games on PC, that was never my point, PC wins (in a last gen way though) if you count all its RPG's since the beggining of time, i give you that, after all PC was all i was playing a few years back
I am more interested in today, nearly all upcoming RPG's of PC are on 360, and 360 has exclusives and JRPGs PC does not have, talking always about next gen titles, not 10 years back ones
And no, MMO's do not counter JRPG's, that is silly, i do not consider MMOs as games at all personally
BTW is King's Bounty any good ? It is a strategy/RPG if i recall right ?

I wasn't talking about old games... :| Games I mentioned are all post-06, 360 was released 2005 I think. PC tends to have a steady stream of small lesser known titles in addition to the big ones, nothing new about that. I'm sure same will continue and in addition to DQ, ME2 PC will get some surprise titles, it always does. And you don't consider MMOs as games so they don't count? Well personally I don't consider jRPGs as games, how's that?
Only played the demo of King's Bounty, from what I could tell it's like HOMM with RPG elements, it's gotten good reviews and has a nice combat system but it didn't really appeal to me the same way HOMM does.
Darn fine list right there and that is why the 360 is the console choice when it comes to rpgs.Xbox 360
