Everyone is a noob. Hardcore gammers are a dying breed and it shows in SW. How is the Wii selling so well? Can any real gammer actually defend its line up as good? No. COD4 has become ridiculously popular. I guess i missed the wagon. Online is full of idiots, Rsv2 and H3 have much more strategy and need for skill. I Played COD4 for the first time in months yesterday and i was owning. The game is so shallow, yet it is hailed as the best thing since sliced bread. When I started playing RSV2 again I got my ass kicked. THE GAMING WORLD IS TURING CASUAL! more people would rather play Wii sports than Halo or crisis or rainbow six. The wii has like 3 games that are worth playing, yet its sales are off the charts. The ps3 isnt as bad, but until mgs4 comes out there is absolutely no reason to buy it, but it still sells moderately well. People are purportedly buying it bc of Blu Ray. Xbox 360 has the most/ best games any denying of that is idiotic. Everyone else's sales are just casuals. The sales of COD4 to me is a sin it is a moderate game at best. People act like COD4 created the persistent online character when they ripped it straight from rainbow six.

Ok i know a lot of people who have wii's you can argue with me all you want but the only thing they play is wii sports.

Casuals are not only an important part, but essential in this industry. They allow more revenue to come into the industry allowing the developers and hardware manufacturers to push to the next level.

Casual gaming can consist of Wii's shovelware or it can consist of GTA, Halo or Madden. Some people get confused about hardcore gaming. Its not just Shooters (actually most shooters appeal to casual gamers). If theres any genre that appeals to hardcore gamers the most it would be fighting games. Mostly because of the combos.

Well look at it like this. A hardcore gamer is someone who plays games a lot (to put it bluntly). A complex game (like a RPG or something) will take time to play. Not something you can pick up play 5 minutes and then leave. LoZ TP is a good example of what a hardcore game is. Yeah if you play any game for a while you can argue its a hardcore game. You can say that about GTA for example.

Diablo 2 disagrees with you.. You can do the exact same thign and play it in short bursts.. But it was an amazingly addictive game with a deep rpg combat system and addictive item system.. A game doesn't need to be easy to pick up to be casual.. It needs to have a lack of depth.. I suppose then by your definition Oblivion is hardcore? When I see it as the exact opposite because it has little to no rpg elements worht mentioning and become sa psuedo adventure game.

dude that has to be the game where i poured most of my hours into. But sadly, I lost my enigma and hoto and all that gg gear. T_T too lazy to start again. Anyhow, I prefer that there is no such things as hardcore/casual games. Games are meant for fun and really serves its purpose if the user feels satisfied/ entertained.

Company of Heroes, Crysis, Neverwinter Nights, Sins of a Solar Empire, Civilization 4, Rome/Medieval Total War games, The Witcher, Stalker, Guild Wars, Battlefield Series, Warcraft 3, Starcraft 1 (soon to be starcraft 2) X3: Reunion and many more all disagree with you.. In the end its stupid to say games are hardcore or not.. But from experience I notice that more indepth games are on the PC..

The Shmup genre disagrees, it's very easy to pick up and play one of the games and they are not in any way complex but they kick the ass of must genres out there in level of hardcore.

Easy on the testosterone there buddy. And may I be the first to point out that Halo3 isn't the most strategic game available. In fact, it is the epitomy of a casual shooter. That's the point. that's why it draws in crowds. Because you don't need to be a hardcore game to play Halo 3. First time I played it, I owned half the people on the server simply because it is a casual FPS. And there in lies the beauty. Event he matchmaking system is geared towards casuals who don't care what server they get, aslong as they can play with friends and get a game easily. I love Halo 3 but I accept this fact. Why do you think there are so many kids playing it?

Secondly, MGS4 being bought because it is Blu-Ray? I think you need to re-read your facts buddy. MGS is a longtime good series. Hell, it invented the stealth action genre. And if you want just hardcore twitch gaming, as it appears from your post, go back and play CS 1.6. Everyone left playing that game is a pro FPS loving hard core fan.
