I'd rank '92, '93, '94, '95, '96, '97, '98, '01, '04, and '10 far ahead of '11 even if the hyped games of the fall turned out to be good. So far though, I can't even name one game that has come out that has even come close to being generation defining, let alone interesting, and the majority of the games that are supposed to save it are multiplats. Prematurely calling this year the G.O.A.T is like how ESPN ridiculously hypes up a team to only see them crash and burn.

As for greatest gen: Gen 4>Gen 5>Gen 6>Gen 7>Gen 3>Gen 2>Gen 1. I'd call this one to be in the middle of the pack.

The only year that's even close to competing with this year is 2009. All other years are trash compared to this gen.

So for a gaming year to be the best, it has to be generation defining. And multiplats are bad apparently. >.>mrmusicman247

The first part, yeah, I'd say that's a given. The second part has to do with handing this year victory to any of the 4 factions, and I don't think any of them deserve it.

Seriously completely seriously I find some GAMES more interesting than entire GENERATIONS. I mean Demon's Souls & Portal 2 are better than an entireprevious generation!

Nothing worth buying, but some notables: The Witcher 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Pokemon Black, Portal 2, DNF, etc. When I do have time to play games, it's been spent mostly playing ones that came out last year, or my Genesis games.

Try LA Noire, Mortal Kombat, and Infamous 2. I'm not saying buy them but rent them at least.

This fall I'll be purchasing six games in five weeks. I don't think I've ever purchased six in six months..

This is definitely one of the best years in recent memory. And if people are comparing it to what is apparently the unanimous "best year ever" then it must be pretty damn good.

I guess you had to be there back in 98', because it doesn't look as godly as people are making it out to be.

Mortal Kombat is on my radar, but I don't like anything Rockstar related, and I have no interest in Infamous since Im not a fan of open world or open world like games. The big games I'm interested come out later in the year, so I'm going to try holding off from buying anything until then.
