Try making this on a console:

You might as well have made the name of this thread "why consoles will never have mods" Juggernaut140Its called: the extend of coding changes required is impossible on consoles...
[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"]So whats the reason?True_Gamer_
The above looked like this:
Oh, I just thought you were going to tell us the reason rather than post images. Im sure that not ever TC Mod is for RTSes.[QUOTE="Mr_Nordquist"]Why the hell are those elephants so huge?lundy86_4
They're from LOTR, have you seen the movies? They appear in them
Oh, now I get it. I just thought it was Empire Total War with some new units, but not a LotR skin. Makes more sense that way.Interesting enough to post? Posting doesn't take up much time and considering its midnight i don't have much to do so don't flatter yourself.[QUOTE="Antikyth3ra"]

Here's what I didn't think it was. An LotR unit. Sorry, I'm not some cult follower of the LotR series.[QUOTE="lundy86_4"][QUOTE="Mr_Nordquist"]Why the hell are those elephants so huge?Mr_Nordquist

First off the only TRUE reason a TOTAL conversion mod wouldn't be capable on a console is....
1.Actual coding and other stuff has to be done in a TOTAL conversion mod its not just some random peices put together the people that make TOTAL conversion mods actually have programming knowledge they have to edit actual memory of the game and not just throw some textures around.
2.All most all TOTAL conversion mods increase the system requirements of a game so computers that could just play the game on high will no longer be able to and will often have to crank it down to medium or low.
3.This is not a point in power you act like the physical graphical capabilities of that game and the amount of units some how precludes it...Guess what how powerful of a computer do you need to play empire total war with that total conversion mod? likely more then what the current generation of consoles has....That means nothing because im sure by next gen or the gen after consoles will be perfectly capable of what you've shown.
You clearly have no point i had to give you points in this post and none of your points matter because eventually consoles will be at the level to produce those graphical and unit limits, and Total conversion mods need actual programming knowledge so short of a developer doing the conversion mod we wouldn't see a user do it, and total conversion mods change the very system requirements of the game so they aren't the end all be all of the universe.
Does OnLive support modding?[QUOTE="Disturbed_One98"]
If OnLive is considered a "console" then you are wrong :P.
agentfred
Nope. It's all Digital Distribution. You don't even have access to the games codes, since they're miles away from you.
Look at the pictures. They are from a Total Conversion called Third Age and are based on Medieval 2 Total War a 2006 game.... Only the fact that they made you believe that its Empire TW is enough. And the main reason that a total conversion will never be possible on consoles is that console/game makers WILL NEVER allow the extent of freedom allowed to tinker with the game code...capish?So....why is this the case then?

Hmm...there doesn't seem to be an adequate reason as to why TC mods can't be made on a console...just a bunch of pictures...
Hey a picture's worth a thousand words is it not?:pI think your point would have been better proven with words.

Says the person with Sonic unleashed in their games played[QUOTE="GeoffZak"]
RTS games suck.
Rougehunter
Yeah. So?... RTS games bore me, playing with the army is better than playing as the army. When playing AS the army, it's like you're not playing a game, give some orders and watch.
Sonic Unleashed was my personal 2008 game of the year. Oh right, it can't be because it didn't get better than a 9.5 from gamespot. How foolish of me.
A picture says a 1000 words... But this isn't the case.mo0ksi
Unless you don't know what's the game and haven't seen the movie... I guess so.

The thing that keeps me playing Far Cry 2 is the map editor. More games need to include level creation like Far Cry 2, it keeps me coming back with more ideas for new maps and I also like to check out maps made by other users. Far Cry 2 makes it easy to create and share your own maps.

The core game is still boring... Unless people bought FC2 for map editing... which many PC game offer, example RTS.
