The state of PC gaming in comparison to console gaming.

Am I missing something here? Console fanboys act like they get an overwhelming abundance of exclusives and games in general compared to the PC. Going by the revered Gamespot Spreadsheet, it's pretty obvious that the PC gets far more attention when it comes to games. Last time I checked, the Ps3s (there's no point mentioning the Xbox 360 because it literally has no exclusives. :lol: ) had Mag (lol), Heavy Rain, God Of War 3, and Modnation Racers, while the PC has had Starcraft 2, Napoleon Total War, Dawn Of War 2: Chaos Rising, Stalker: Call Of Pripyat, Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead, Settlers 7, Mount & Blade: Warband, Whispered World, Alien Swarm, just from the top of my head. Are console gamers so insecure they have to repeatedly beat the dead horse, hoping that it may one day come true? :? PC >>>> Consoles. Deal with it. 8)Nyuuuu

it has one more high scoring one than the ps3 does. :?

PC does get many more exclusives, but many are not mainstream and thus go unnoticed by major gaming sites.

360 has almost as many exclusives as the PS3.

Also, a broad statement such as "PC >>>> Consoles" doesn't solely come down to which has the most exclusives. Many people just prefer consoles, which is fine.

Which is subjective. The PC having a much larger, varied, and high scoring library is pretty concrete evidence that the PC is the superior platform. :)Nyuuuu

I essentially said it was subjective... You can see the word "prefer", in other words, a "preference", which is a subjective leaning towards something.

I agree that the PC library is better, but some people "prefer" (there's that word again) the console library. Nothing wrong with it.

In that case the it's seems to be a three horse race because the 360 is way behind. Stevos list could be useful here because it already has this year only releases. Either the PC, PS3 or Wii could win.

I'm counting this year, because that's the present. :P The 360 has seen a heavy decline in exclusivity, and the PS3 is chugging along, but only barely. It's ironic that console fanboys are so fixated on the whole PC gaming is dying, they can't seem to see the trouble their consoles are currently in. Keeping in mind the way the console market has changed recently due to the Wii, and the fact that motion controls are on the way for consoles, I'll be scared to be a console fanboy right now. Nyuuuu

There are many variables in the gamig market, but consoles are still doing exceptionally well. Exclusives have unfortunately become limited unless being dev'd by 1st or 2nd parties. 3rd party developers are moving towards multiplatform (i.e. Square-Enix etc), due to a massive increase in development costs this generation.

I Think the console is better than the pc, because its insert and go and you dont need to install anything, and Pc games require certain specs and stuff so u can end up wasting money. Also the pc games are becoming more complicated, and u basicly need internet to play anything on it now. But then again, you can get much more games on the pc and multiplayer is normally free ( except for games like counter strike.etc) So you need a good computer, like a alienware gaming one, otherwise id stick with console gaming.Saberhearts

How can you "waste money" on specs? That's damn near impossible unless you buy overpriced, outdated hardware. PS3 requires you to install things, 360 has some things like Forza 3 content that required the HDD install. You have to update on the PS3/360/Wii also. If anything, consoles are only becomming even more simplifed, restricted PCs.

You can play any PC game offline, unless it's online only like WoW.

You do not pay for online for Counter Strike. PC Gaming is free except for MMOs that require you to pay (Like WoW and Warhammer) At least you aren't being forced to pay for online (XBL what a joke. Even raising prices even higher.) PS3 has it right, Wii almost had it right, friend codes are fail.

Alienwares are crap now that Dell bought them out like 3 years ago. A self built $500-700 computer will get you great performance at max, or near max settings with some AA at beyond 720p resolution.

Maybe some fakeboy is running around making them or something... From what i saw, most of them were made by low level posters=/chaplainDMK

My theory is that the PC vs. Consoles threads are one of the only threads where a 360 owner and a PS3 owner can work together in a unified alliance against something without betraying their clan. Not sure if Wii owners are joining in the alliance.

This kind of PS3/360 alliance does not happen often, so I'm assuming that they are taking advantage of it.

HOnestly, the PC exclusives mentioned are games that people play consoles because they don't care. I mean, who plays Xbox and likes RTS games? Not to mention that most of those games are not mainstream and you also haven't taken into account games that are exclusive to consoles overall such as Army of Two: The 40th Day and as well as underhyped console games such as Alan Wake and Modnation (even though you put in such games for PC and those games were significantly less known then the "underhyped" titles I mentioned).

Jeez, and PC gamers wonder what all the hate is about.

Then again, there are probably much better people to represent PC gaming then someone who childishly states their opinions as fact so I'd hope only some PC gamers have such an attitude.

Console gamers feel bad that their awesome next-gen systems take a beating from the 'dying' PC.
