The Steam Summer Sale (June 19)

I believe that, but I thought about it and I'm not really that much into zombie games, or survival ones. I'm more about RPGs and action RPGs.

If you mean steam trading. There's always the risk of the purchase being fraudulent and the game being revoked. If it wasn't from steam trading than you are fine.

I was a State of Decay crackhead for a while. For some reason I would play that game for hours on end before going to sleep. However it got to the point where I had played it so much that I realized many of the missions and elements of the story were cut and paste ["lets go kill zombies the old fashion way."]

However that shouldn't discourage anyone from playing the game as by the time I started to realize the parts related to the games cut and paste nature I had logged somewhere around 40 hours of playtime (mostly played in Steam Offline mode so I have no idea how much time I've actually spent playing that game). Compare that to most games that can give you a 9/10 experience with 12 to 14 hours worth of gameplay.

I'm kicking around the idea of pre-purchasing DR3, but my luck Capcom will find a way to screw me because I thought I could save money somehow.

DR3 for 16 damn................ I want that. I always wanted to trade but I never have before. I got some games, too.

Ya. It has 60 days till it can be revoked. Just warning you ahead of time. If it does get revoked. Contact support, though they can't really do anything if you paid with cash. That's why I always pay with keys. If you paid with paypal, you can always reclaim the money within the same time period. But, you risk a Steamrep ban unless you make a report with evidence that the game was revoked and such.

I have personal experience with trading and had a couple of games revoked before, what's always advised is not to trade with a) Brand new steam accounts that are suspicious b) If the trade is too good to be true, than it really is. This isn't a guarantee though.

Now obviously if it doesn't get revoked. Than you are good to go. Just providing info that you gotta be careful with who you trade with.

I highly recommend buying Original Sin while there's still time. Most interesting rpg in a while, just the beta itself is brilliant.

So I'm pretty new to this whole Steam sales thing. I've had Steam a while but hadn't used it in a long time and never bothered to check the sales. Now I'm trying to slowly work towards PC gaming and figured it was a good time to start. I have a question for the more experienced people here. I had assumed that the Daily Deals where 1 day only but I see yesterday's deals are still in effect. Do those deals last until the sale ends? Or only a couple of days? I'm tempted on getting Witcher 2 but I have it on my 360 and was planning on playing it a bit more to see if I should just play it on PC.

The daily deals technically last 48 hours or w/e, like the 19th sales will be gone in 11 hours, then todays (as I write this) deals will take their place as "Yesterdays Big Deals".

Picked up XCOM. Hopefully it lives up to all of that insane hype. It's by Firaxis, so I'm fairly confident that it will, plus it should keep me busy in the run up to Civilization: Beyond Earth :)

Got Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, XCOM and Torchlight 2 so far.

Thinking of picking up the Walking Dead series too.

Picked up both seasons of The Walking Dead and Bioshock Infinite. Most likely all I'm going to get for this sale.

• Cook, Serve, Delicious for $4 (it's based on that old PlayStation Japanese cooking game Ore no Ryouri, which I had the demo for and loved).
• Prison Architect "Name in Game" for $17 for the girlfriend.
• BioShock triple pack for $10.19 (I own the BioShock CE complete with Securom DRM on PC from back in the day and BioShock 2 on PS3, but I wanted all three on Steam for convenience sake)

Only two other things I want are Dark Souls II for $20 or less and The Forest (for any amount on sale).

What's with the teams? Why or how did they get grouped together?

It's a meta-game steam is running for the summer sale. You get placed on a team randomly when you click the join a team button. Team that gets the most points per day (can get points for your team by crafting badges and other things) gets some rewards, most significantly 30 people get 3 games off of their wish list for free. It's neat but you don't really need to worry about it if you have no interest in it.

Picked up Half Life 1&2 (along with HL2 episodes; yes, I'm that late to the PC gaming party), Portal, and The Cave so far. I'm pissed I missed the Blood Dragon sale, hopefully they bring it back for the last day. I'm really hoping Broken Age or Dark Souls goes on sale, I finally have some money to throw around.

@DirkXXVI: Took me about 20 hours to realize that, I stopped playing when I finished the story. There isn't much replayability, you would think that initially but once you've done everything, there's no point in doing it again because it will always seem familiar.

I would rather just have the games I want go on sale like I want so I can buy them and be done with this sale.

I think yesterday and today's sales have been really really lackluster. A lot of low budget zombie games (and low budget games in general), early access games, and the community sales have been just terrible because of this voting based on genre thing (means less variety).

Wasn't gonna buy anything, but Skyrim Legendary Edition was less than 14 bucks, so.... yeah, I bought it.

Picked up Thief and a load of Rocksmith DLC, been waiting on the Rocksmith cuts for ages.

Got Hotline Miami and Far Cry 3 Blood dragon and am planning to buy the Blood and Gore dlc for Rome II but I'll wait till the end to see if it drops any further(probably not but you never know...).

Had to resist buying XCOM when it was 75% off and will try not to buy anything else because I've got a crap load to play as it is. I'm now trying to beat as many of the games I own for the next few months. I just beat Hotline Miami a few hours ago and that was officially the first steam game I've ever completed. That's kinda sad when you think about it... ._.
