[QUOTE="InfinityMugen"]To be fair Nintendo has come up with new IP's this gen which have been very successful. I'm assuming you want a Nintendo IP that is meatier and rich in content as well as original. I too desire this. With Nintendo pushing motion plus with their lastest sku and E3 just around the corner, I hope we get to see some amazing software that takes advantage of Wii's greatest strengths. nintendo of america hasnt released a AAA NEW ip in about 10 years..... even further.Professor Layton 2 years ago. Nintendogs 5 years ago. Eternal Darkness 8 years ago. Pikmin 9 years ago. And if you count it, Advance Wars 9 years ago. All less than 10 years. :D[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]Yet if anyone makes a complaint that maybe Nintendo should try taking more risky projects under their belt it's called "trolling nintendo" Look at all the money they just made!! They are rolling in cash at this point. Take a few risks in the software department. Do something new and different. People want to see something new and different because NINTENDO is a quality developer. Personally I hold them to the highest of standards when it comes to fundamentals and polish. The Zelda series is a shining example of that. adamlovesu
Unlike most video game publishers that earned millions of dollars in profits (or losses), Nintendo is perhaps the only one that earns more than $1 billion in profits. It could have earned more if the Japanese yen was weak against the U.S. dollar.
Here are some major publishers and how much net profits they earned or how much they lost in the last fiscal year:
Sega Sammy - $218.5 million profit; consumer business - $68.1 million net profit
Sony (game division) - $435.6 million loss
Konami - $143.2 million net profit
EA - $677 million loss
Capcom - $23.8 million net profit
Namco Bandai - $316.14 million loss
Activision Blizzard - $381 million net profit
and they're saying that sales are slumping?

sales are high, but they are starting to go down for the first time since release, still high though
